CAA and WDW AP ?'s

I am not currently a CAA member but just had a couple of CAA/AP questions.

1. What would the discount be at a value resort/value season (reg. price 77US/nt) for CAA members? We are talking probably about 10 nights so I wonder if it would be worthwhile for me to get a CAA membership to get the discount (especially if I am unable to get a general discount code)

2. Can I book the vacation myself or do I have to book it with a CAA travel agent???

3. Booking room only with a CAA discount code and/or travel agent wouldn't mean that I now have a WDW package, would it? Under no circumstances, can I book a package due to the 45 day cancellations policy (due to illness in my family).

4. If we purchased an AP for one of the kids, would that allow us to get AP discount rates (if available) or would the person doing the booking (me) have to have the AP?

5. I can't find the AP rates on the WDW web site. Does anyone know what the child and adult rates currently are?

Any tips would be greatly appreciated. Sorry so many questions. I am nuts. I should be planning our next holiday not, not WDW. But planning Caribbean stuff is just way to simple, I guess I just like complications in my life. :rotfl:

Have a great weekend. We have had wolves on our property the last two nights so we are either staying inside for the weekend or going away :moped: for the weekend!!!!

Here is a link to Annual Passes on the WDW Website.

http://disneyworld.disney.go.com/wd..._ANNUAL_PASSES&productPass=WDW_AP&country=USA

I think that you would have to purchase an Adult Annual Pass for the resort discount, as a child would not be able to reserve a room (under 18).

If you ask for "room only" you will have a different set of rules regarding cancellation policies. Check mousesavers.com for the details.

Generally, the CAA discount is around 10 - 20% (per mousesavers.com)
I just got a CAA discount for All Stars Movies (regular $109.00 for $92.00)
But this is for Peak Season (Feb 24th)

If you call WDW CRO and tell them that you want to apply an AAA discount to your room reservation they will put you through to a CM that specialises in this.
Hope this helps!!!

Hi - I think I can help with some of this.

***-Don't know about value, specifically, but everything I have read said about 10% off. I booked the Poly and the AKL and I have BCAA and it was 10% discount.

2. Can I book the vacation myself or do I have to book it with a CAA travel agent???

*You can book it yourself and have the AA rate applied. Be careful if you decide to go through AA. When I got my first quote from them it was not even a discounted rate...ie was same as rack rate.

3. Booking room only with a CAA discount code and/or travel agent wouldn't mean that I now have a WDW package, would it? Under no circumstances, can I book a package due to the 45 day cancellations policy (due to illness in my family).

- No, if you ask for room only with and specify you want the cancellation policy that allows you to cancel any time up to 5 days prior, you won't have a problem.

4. If we purchased an AP for one of the kids, would that allow us to get AP discount rates (if available) or would the person doing the booking (me) have to have the AP?

- Not sure about this - if you check the resort thread some posters say it has to be adult AP. Just call Disney's 1-800# and check.

5. I can't find the AP rates on the WDW web site. Does anyone know what the child and adult rates currently are?

- they are there...just look under tickets. I just ordered AP's - it was 420.68 adult and 357.84 child

Any tips would be greatly appreciated. Sorry so many questions. I am nuts. I should be planning our next holiday not, not WDW. But planning Caribbean stuff is just way to simple, I guess I just like complications in my life. :rotfl:

- I finally gave up control and transf'd my reservation to Dreams Unlimited. I am hoping for room only or AP discounts during our stay (we are going for 2 weeks) and since I am in Vancoouver I would have to get up WAY too early to call at 7am eastern time. Hopefully it works out for me! Dreams can also book using AA rate...

Have a great weekend. We have had wolves on our property the last two nights so we are either staying inside for the weekend or going away :moped: for the weekend!!!!

I insert my comments after each question -
Good luck!!

Hi, Suzy! We've done just that a few times. My DD's have each gone south with different aunts in the past (while Mommy stayed home to work :sad2: ) and then when we went in the summer, we used their AP for the discount. It does not have to be the person who makes the reservation, but DOES have to be someone on the reservation. BTW, if you ask on the resorts board, you'll have a few people who will insist that this is incorrect, despite MANY people having done it :confused3 Go and have a GREAT time!

Thanks so much for all the info. on this.

I checked the CAA web site and it states that the basic CAA membership is $63 cdn.

Does anyone know if they ever have offer discount pricing (or any other ways to get a discount on the basic membership)?

Also, can you buy discounted MYW tickets through CAA? I couldn't find anything on the web site about it.

Thanks
Suzy V.

Hi Anne,

Did you order your AP online? I tried but it wouldn't let me place my order (because I have a Canadian address)... I got my last AP (expired in Dec) at my local Disney Store but wanted to order a new one online.
