I think I overthink things...no I KNOW I overthink things. Currently my ADR's are as follows

Les Chefs de France
??
CA Grill
Mother's Day Brunch
Cape May Cafe
Wolfgang Puck (OOP)
Alfredo's

I still need one more ADR. I'm now considering swapping CA Grill for Flying Fish and adding Kona.

personal experience anyone?
help...:confused3

good choices! our family prefers Cal. Grill over Flying Fish - our experience at Flying Fish was "okay" - there are several tables by the service door to the kitchen - it feels "busy" for a finer dining spot - the Cal. Grill has a pretty view of the castle (you can go out on the deck for a nice view) and the atmosphere feels more like a special night out-the food is excellent

we really like Kona - food is good and then you can jump on the train for a ride to the parks or to walk around other hotels after dinner -

we went to the Cape May buffet this past trip - food was pretty good with lots of choices for everyone but not much atmosphere (another great buffet is BOMA - there are lots of food choices - some adverturesome but still with prime rib, chicken fingers, etc AND the hotel is great to hang out after dinner - there are guides to share stories, a firepit to sit by and lots of animals that you can watch from the deck - such a neat hotel

Alfredos is the only one that gets such mixed reviews - people either seem to love it or hate it - maybe that is why it is closing in August

have a wonderful trip!

Thanks for the input. We went to Alfredo's last year for the 1st time.. We LOVED it..server was awesome, food was great (and we tend to be pretty picky when it comes to Italian food out, even my Gramma loved it and her sauce can't be beat!) Sad it's closing, but hopefully something great will be put in its place.

We love California Grill, I definitely recommend it.
Personally, I would cancel Cape May and go to Kona. Kona is absolutely a must do for either dinner or breakfast. The rest of your ADRs seem like good choices.

My vote is keep CA Grill... I love it. Going out on the deck to view Wishes is terrific and the food is outstanding.

personally, i'd swap cape may for kona instead. we've eaten at kona twice, and enjoyed it both times. cape may is the only disney restaurant we've ever been seated at, took a look at the menu/buffet, and walked out. obviously, it's personal taste, but we didn't get what the big deal was.

for buffets, our favorite, hands down, is boma. i think we've eaten there on every trip since the first time we tried it.

we also enjoyed wolfgang puck, both the sit-down that's on the DDP and the wolfgang puck express.

good luck!

We've eaten at both numerous times, most recently last Halloween. I've always been a big fan of the Cali Grill (DW not so much), but our last visit was disappointing. The food was lack-luster (we were there with a group and one appetizer was sent back 4 times before they got it right) and the service was poor. But the view is awesome, as is the atmosphere.

On the other hand, I've never had a bad experience at the Flying Fish. It doesn't have the ambience of the CG, but the food has always been terrific.

Quite honestly, you can't go wrong. Save Kona for breakfast (they do the best breakfast) and try both! :teacher:

I think you should definitely keep your ADR for California Grill, its a great restuarant with the best view at WDW.

If you need to add another restaurant, you can't go wrong with Kona.

I've been to both CG and FF. I enjoyed FF (the char crusted steak was really good), but I also really enjoy CG. I'd stick with CG this time since you already have the ADR for it. As for which restaurant to add, that's always tough since we don't know your tastes. I've never had a bad meal at Disney, but restaurants I particularly enjoy are Coral Reef and Teppanyaki. I'm also really excited to try Concourse, Hollywood Brown Derby, and Narcoossee's. I enjoyed Crystal Palace for a buffet dinner. In any event, I think you're making good choices, and just pick one that you think you'll enjoy. You'll always get mixed reviews on the DIS, so go with what YOU want and be excited about your choice.

The former chef at the Flying Fish is now the chef at CA Grill....if that helps. I noticed on allears that CA Grill reviews have improved recently and Flying Fish reviews seem to have declined.

I would skip the Cape May Buffet. Kona has much better food and atmosphere. :goodvibes

My DW and I have really enjoyed FF and have not been to CG in a while, but we are going to do both on our trip in May with our son to celebrate his return. I can give a report when we get back. ;)

Paul in CT #2 checking in. We have done FF and Ca Grill. We preferred the Ca Grill. Although, at Flying Fish I had the chocolate sampler, and I must say it was awesome. A pyramid of chocolate mousse, an appertif glass of chocolate lemongrass tea, and a beggar's purse of molten chocolate cake in a raspberry coulis. I told my wife I didn't know if I loved her enough to share it.
