CA DVC owners?

We live in Southern California- High Desert area. We've been members since 1994 and have traveled to WDW every year since then.

We also live in the High Desert of Southern California! We own about 400 points now and travel to DW about 2 times a year. We don't mind the flight and enjoy WDW much more than DL. You may want to try renting points first to see if you like it before you buy. That's what we did and we finally bought less than a year ago. We have also added on 2 times since then!:yay: Good luck!

Hello! We just joined the boards. I can't believe we missed this great resource. We own at AKC and are looking forward to Grand CA opening. We're also thrilled to hear about Hawaii.

We live in the San Diego area too.

Kath :)

Yet another San Diegan chiming in. We are presently at DFW returning from our annual trek to WDW for Lotusphere (conference). This year we enjoyed 10 nights at BWV (joy!) and 2 nights at AKV.

As for "adult activities," WDW has many wonderful restaurants, great spa offerings and many special tours. We especially enjoyed the Segway tour at Epcot and Wanyama (sp?) Safari from AKV.

Plenty to do on every visit!

I am also from Orange County Ca!! Just bought 65 points due to the distance. I plan to buy more when Hawaii opens up. I will always add a cruise when I go to Florida so 65 works well for me.

We do the reverse trek and hope to buy in to DVC at the GC when it opens for sale. Will visit DL this spring for a two night stay at the end of a week in Palm Desert at Marriott's Shadow Ridge resort.

DL is a very special park. We prefer the CA version of many rides (Pirates, Haunted Mansion, Space Mountain) as well as the DL unique Indiana Jones ride.

Hi :wave2:

We're in the Inland Impire area of So Cal. (near Ontario Airport)!! We have owned at Saratoga Springs since 2005. We just came back last night from 10days in a studio at the AKL Villas and had a great time!!!

We are hoping to do Adventures by Disney next year so I think we'll end up banking our remaining points for another long stay in 2010!!

We are from Fresno and have owned DVC for several years. We go to WDW 2 times each year and every other year we take our 3 grown sons and their families with us. Our needs changed as the "kids" grew up and we love DVC more than ever. My goals was to purchase enough DVC points to stay all year but DH has told me that 2 addons are enough, no more points for us!

:cool1:

And I thought we were the only Disney crazies in this area... :rotfl:

Wow, NYE at WDW!! How exciting!!! Have a great time and be sure to let us know how it was!!

I still need to do my trip report from this trip but need a whole day off for that. lol.

Dizneyholic,
Glad to know there are others in our hood!! Most everyone I know has an AP for DL so talking about WDW seems so foreign! We did as well a few yrs ago but found WDW had so much more to offer!! I'm glad to share the craziness
with u and all the other Dis lovers out there!!
So 10 days!! SO COOL!!
Wish we could go around this time but my DS HS band schedule keeps us on a tight leash schedule!! So our only option to DVC was the 2 weeks of Holiday break. Thus the needing of mega points. (puchased 300, looking for 150 more) Hope Adventures goes well for you & looking forward to hear all about it!!

Hello to my neighbors!!!! DISNEYHOLIC & HJGAUS!!!! We're here in Corona just off green river rd....hjgaus, my sister lives there in CH. We've been members since Jan 07., went to WDW twice last year and we had a blast. Right now we're planning a Disney cruise maybe this November.

Hi Zoom!!!

I used to live in Corona off the 15 south! I really like it out that way...so much closer to Disneyland!!

Looks like you have already been on a Disney Cruise?? I would love to hear your opinion of them? It's something we have been looking into but just aren't sure about since neither of us has ever been on one. Do you use your points or do you pay cash?

Thanks,
Chas :)

We loved DCL!, It was really fun, a lot of activities onboard, shows are good and castaway cay is beautiful especially now that the flying dutchman is docked there. You can always try the 3-4 night cruises and see if you like it. Do you have kids? Originally, we were gonna use our points for FEB09 cruise but points went up quite a bit compared to 07-08 charts, so we decided to rent out our points and pay cash. If you haven't seen the ship yet, i suggest you go to Long Beach this summer and dine at any oceanview restaurants so you can see the Magic when it pass by. I'm sure it'll give you goosebumps when you see the Magic it is so beautiful!

We are from Northern Cali:hippie: small town between Sac & Tahoe called Georgetown. Currently have 8 feet of snow:eek: We love our VWL and have owned for awhile now. We go twice a year May (including Vero for a few days) and Dec. pre holiday.

We manage at least 4 free flights a year with our Southwest card:woohoo: and have mastered the DING, Sac to Orlando $200 round trip.

Hey... did you guys decide to do Adventures by Disney for France? Should we plan a small trip with just three of us for next year, then plan on a bigger one in 2010?

Let us know!

From Temecula, CA here. We go to WDW about 3 times a year for a week. We plan on buying at GCH once it is avaliable. We will then do three weeks at WDW and 2 Weeks at DL. We relly get alot out of our DVC and are happy we bought.

I live in Irvine which is about 20 minutes away from DL. I hope to buy 25 points for two reasons. I want it for New Year Eve and for relatives who come to visit. I figure if I don't use it I can use it for DW.

Hello neighbor, we're in El Dorado Hills! We will soon be DVC members again at AKV. We plan on buying GCV when its available. Our plan is WDW every 2-3 years and Disneyland a couple times a year.

I will have to keep a look out on the DING, I've gotten good fares to OC but haven't been so lucky to MCO.

Hi neighbor :hippie: gosh, we do live pretty close:thumbsup2 Sacramento to MCO comes up pretty often, make sure you have Orlando as one of your airports on your DING's when you see flights from Oakland, San Jose, SFO etc.. to Orlando, Sacramento is usually next. It always seems to go in the same order and I swear Sac comes up on a weekend everytime and I usually miss it..:confused3
