CA during Christmas Week - Give it to me

After experiencing both parks this week, I think my family would love CA. We will be back here the week of Christmas and was wondering if we should take the kids for one day to CA.

Questions:

What are typically the park hours for CA during Xmas week. We are early risers and would hit the park as early as possible. We would stay at a walking distance hotel.

We wouldn’t be eligible for MM or EMH. Does CA have these every day during Xmas week? We can only go on 12/27 which is a Thursday. If there are MM/EMH, are there any earlier breakfasts to book inside CA?

RSR, Incredicoaster and GoG would be big goals. We will have maxpass, we could get those, right?

We would splurge for dining packages for night shows. What usually runs at CA Xmas week? Paint the night was awesome, but is that going away?

Does CA have Xmas parties like WDW does where the park closes early?

Crowds-crazy, right?

They have run EMH every day over Xmas week before so it’s not unprecedented to see it as a possibility.

No early breakfasts to book inside DCA (the shorthand is DCA btw not “CA” :) ).

No one can tell you what will be available on MP. My suspicion is you would at least get 2 of those.

Nighttime shows: no one knows. WOC may or may not be back. The only other package is for PTN and Disney has not announced if that will be around for the holidays.

No Christmas parties out West.

Hella crazy crowds. Double whatever you just experienced.

Thanks! I’m honestly looking for reasons not to go. Ha. I want to, but hate crowds.

Just a warning. 12/27 is second only to New Years Eve in the way of crowds. If you do not like crowds, you are going to be miserable.

We were there 12/27 last year. Crazy crazy crowds but we had an amazing trip! They have offered the early entry every morning for Disneyland park during that time- but I don’t think for DCA. Only hotel guests. What we did that day was use our early entry to Disneyland to do a few things and book fast passes via max pass and then moved to DCA. We honestly had all those top rides done by lunch time.. but we had the early entry time to start booking those.

The problem is that once Disneyland park hits capacity- and it will around 11am or so- people start pouring into DCA. We didn’t really feel the crowds until after lunch. Then we took a break.

No.

I've gone for NYE 3 times since 2014-15 and the crowds on NYE are busy but it's not 12/26-30 crowds and I would say that Halloween time was worse then NYE this past year.

I've been at Disneyland every year since 1998 for Dec 22-Jan 4 (with the exception of last year, we were in WDW), and I do consider it the busiest day of the year. Dec 26 is also extremely busy as the Rose Bowl teams arrive with all the cheer leaders, bands, etc. And the 27th has the free day for the teams before heading back to the bowl practices. It is a lot of fun, but it is exceptionally busy, more so than I have experienced at Halloween. Last year, since we were heading to WDW, we were only at the DLR from Dec 19-26. The 26th was what we have experienced every other year.

ETA - If USC is in the Rose Bowl, the parks aren't as bad as they are local. But when the teams are the Oregon Ducks, Wisconsin, Michigan, or Penn State, it is much more crowded.
