Anyone else sad to say goodbye to the Disney Club? I'm going to miss the toll free # and the regular mailing. We received that much more reliably than the Mickey Monitor which seems to come so sporadically.

Also loved MK Club....we belonged to that from the early '80s to its sad demise.

Oh, well...Happy New Year everyone!

Yes I'm going to miss it!! :( I would like to think that they will bring a new and improved version back but now that they have the Visa program I'm not so sure. I can always hope!

I'm really going to miss it. :( The 800 #, the discounts at Downtown Disney and The Disney Store. I do have the Disney Visa and was able to rack up over $200 so far in disney dollars. I'm happy about that, but I think the worst overall is losing the toll free number.

Has anyone tried to use the 800 # since the DC expired???
Yes....that will be the biggest loss!!
Guess I will be using my cell ph. more often....just hope the battery doesn't die when I get put on hold for such a long time!!

Yes, I'm gong to miss it very much. I did save a lot with it this year but could have gotten the same savings through public codes really. Will mainly miss having that card to look at when I opened my purse! Guess I can keep carrying it but somehow doesn't mean the same.

Disney is just about MONEY and visa card through a bank is more profitable than the old Disney Club. Not the way Walt would have gone I'm sure. But then there's no Disney family left on the current board.

Disney Visa offers go in the shredder just like the 20 other "your pre-approved" mailers I get every month. My credit is just fine and I'm not about to add a higher interest, non fixed rate card. My one reward card is much better and I can use it anywhere in the world including Swan/Dolphin.

Bye-Bye Disney Club you were fun for me and my family.

You're right! If you carry a balance this is not the card to do it on. We pay in full every month so for us, it's a fun way to earn extra spending money when we go to Disney.

Sad to see this card go.

I never booked a room with it but sure saved a lot on purchasing tickets. Loved the discount, even on clearance items. Bye-Bye Friend :( I'll miss your savings.

Is there an 800 number with the Disney Visa? Or are we stuck paying long distance with the 407 number??? Is there an 800 number for AP holders?

Maggie

We will miss the Disney Club too! It was well worth the cost of membership each year.

Disney Visa lowered the interest rate for my mother when she called them. 2 points!!!! Give them a call and ask them....what have you got to loose!

Good Luck!

Yes I am very sad to see the Disney Club end. I have also been a member since it was the Magic Kingdom Club. I just tried to call the 1800 number and received a recording saying that the Disney Club has ended, to make reservations please call 407...... I really hate to loose that perk but I guess I will also have to use my free long distance on my cell phone to make my reservation calls.:( :(

I guess it is just a sign of the times. (GREED) Disney could have continued provided a service to it's loyal members. Instead it sold out to a credit card company that can make money off of peoples' dream vacations. We loved the MK CLUB/Disney Club. It made us feel like we were part of the Disney family. Why should we pay BankOne money for the ability to do what we used to do for a fraction of the cost? Even the rewards are not that great. This is one thing I am angry with Disney about, and I love a WDW vacation as much as anyone on these boards. I guess I will have to buy AP's to get the discounts we once had with the Disney Club. Why should we have to pay for a telephone call and wait 20 minutes to go to WDW and spend money. When will the greed end? Aren't you supposed to reward loyalty with loyalty? Does Disney owe BankOne and the telephone company more that it does it's loyal customers?
