General Hospital Update:

In news that had message boards the Internet world over buzzing, Vanessa Marcil will exit her popular role of Brenda by February 19. Citing expenses and firstborn son concerns – according to TV Guide, which broke the story – Marcil and her GH bosses were unable to hammer out a mutual agreement whereupon the actress would receive a hefty salary raise surpassing that of legendary Tony Geary (Luke), as well as his leisurely schedule. Many have tried, many – as evidenced this past September by Genie Francis (ex-Laura), his on-screen better-half – have failed. "I'm really disappointed to be leaving, but I guess ABC's not willing to compromise on the things I need. I have a lot more needs now that I have a child, and they need what they need to run a show smoothly,” Marcil said. “When I signed a short-term deal last summer, I made it clear I'd have to see how my son responded to my going back to work. And he hasn’t responded well.” Sources claim this will probably be the finale for Marcil – who will vacation in Africa with beau Brian Austin Green soon – to come and go.

Wow, where have I been? She has a son and is with Brian Austin Green? I had no idea. She sure doesnt look like she had a kid.
Well, as much as I like her character, and its stinks to see her go, it is nice to see her caring about her child enough to do this.

I think Brenda (Vanessa Marcil) is a beautiful woman, but I think I've had enough of her on GH already!

Word has it that Jax will pick up where Sonny left off--leaving Brenda at the alter.

And ofcourse a Skye and Jax reunion won't be far behind!

So typical in the entertainment industry. Same goes for Football players, Basketball players, etc.

They're all paid way, way too much money, and can make ridiculous demands. Looks like hers fell through.

I agree with some of the previous posters....she has needs now that she has a son - poor baby! I'm sure she's making plenty to be able to support 10 kids and still have plenty left over. If she thinks she deserves more than Anthony Geary she's nuts too - he's been around much longer, and her whining on the shows doesn't deserve more than that.
