I managed to get a round trip airfare from Detroit to Orlando for a solo trip for $33...leave 12/04 and fly back 12/07...but can I really plan a trip this fast?

You absolutely can....I just wish your travel dates were a week later....congratulations anyway.

and Dave, given your well-documented problem with airport transportation, I recommend calling DME right away! It would be a shame if you spent the entire four days at MCO.
