BWV waitlist

We are trying to get a BWV 2BD standard for mid Jan 2012. One of the nights (the 19th) is not available, so I am on a waitlist. My Question is what are the chances of getting it and how long will it take? We are doing a grand gathering and everyone is staying at BWV. I have two BILs that will help with points to book days for us because I don't have enough points for the preferred. (Grandma and Grandpa are in our room) I just don't want to wait to long and not be able to even get a preferred. Any ideas?

I guess it all depends how many people are on the waitlist. Since a 2 bedroom is a studio and 1 bedroom, it's probably the studio standard that is not available.....BTW -- I'm on the waitlist for January 19th for a studio standard too.

Since today is the 19th, maybe there will be some moment when others call and possibily move elsewhere since today is their 7 month window. I will be doing a split stay between OKW and BWV if the 19th doesn't open up.

Just an UPDATE: I just called again and now there are no standard studios available for Jan. 18, 19 and 22. OP, not sure of your dates, but with no standard studios available, that makes a standard 2 bedroom not available too. Ugh. I was going to try to book a part stay. I'm still waitlisted for Jan. 18 for 7 nights. Good luck.

How many points are you short? You can buy up to 24 points from member services for $15 each.

I would book the preferred and then continue the waitlist for the standard. If you just got on the waitlist at 7 months, the odds are not good.

I got together with the other DVC members and we called together, and just booked preferred for our and one other room. Now it is booked and we can all start our plans. Between the 3 DVC members we got 4 studios and two 2BD villas, only 2 studios are standard and those opened up while he was on the phone the morning of the 17th. I hope some pixie dust comes your way for your 7 nights!
I was just going to "rent" the points from one of my BILs for my part, so we wouldn't have to transfer points, now I just owe him points for a future trip. It all worked out, we got all 22 of us in!

Wow -- 22 people, now that's a group!!! Thanks for the pixie dust. Glad you got your plans worked out. I remember the days when getting a standard room at the 7 month window during a slower time like late January was possible. I'm a BWV owner, but in January I seldom have to use the 11 month window and opt to use other points from my SSR contract. We do like OKW alot too, so I won't be disappointed if my WL for the BWV doesn't come through. I know I could do preferred, but OKW and BWV-S are the exact same points and I have to bank in November, so I try to get my ducks in a row before banking.
