Im' using a family members week next July 1-5 th and are wondering where to stay between BCV or BWV. Any suggestions between the two or recommendations? Taking 2-16 yr old - 14 - 9.

I am a little biased because I own there but I would say go with BWV. When we planned our vacation this year we were thinking of maybe trying out BCV (just for the pool) but my DD who is almost 14 said she really likes the Boardwalk and wants to stay there. She likes to hang out at night on the Boardwalk because there is a lot of activity. IMHO (and I am sure there will be BCV people out there who will contradict me - just don't throw any flames) the BCV, BC & YC will probably be very crowded that week and that is a lot of people to stick in the pool.

All that being said, I think you will have a great time whichever place you choose to stay. Both resorts are very nice. We love DVC. :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce:

I'll give the opposing view for BCV, I own there, but don't worry I won't flame you LNaylor863. As far as I'm concerned there are far more flames thrown around here than we need! I agree Boardwalk has far more nightlife. However, my participation in nightlife ends shortly after Illuminations. Then I watch the "Zip-a-dee-do-da" tip for the day about 20 times, then crawl into bed so I can get "Up and at 'em" bright and early when Mickey calls. I love to sit on the balcony and listen to the faint sounds of the World Showcase music. I love to just sit in the several spots in BCV with a good book. And I love to get a sundae at Beaches and Cream to go, then sit out in the rocking chairs facing the Boardwalk. And although I've never done it, the kiddie pool with the sand for making sand castles with a pail and shovel (can you tell I've seen Samantha Brown about 10 times at the Beach Club?) looks so fun for little ones (Heck, adults too!) Rah, rah-BCV!

I own at both :)

I prefer the pool at BC, DS (17) prefers the pool at BW, and DH could care less, they both have a bar.

As far as nightlife, the BW is right there even if you're at the BC, so I wouldn't let that make up your mind.

I prefer the rooms at the BWV. They are a smidge larger (about 40 square feet in a 1BR), not all of the bedrooms have a balcony and slider at the BCV :( That was a real bummer when we stayed there with DH's sister...I like to go out onto the balcony when I wake up to see what the temp is, and couldn't because I didn't want to wake her. Also, the balcony we did have off the LR was positively microscopic :(

DS prefers the BWV because it has Community Hall, and he almost always meets other kids there to play video games and such for an hour or two each day.

The BCV are newer and a bit closer to Epcot, although the BWV are that much closer to MGM.

Frankly that time of the year I do'nt know if you'll have much choice--where is their contract (their points)? You'll wnat to book at the 11 month point, and will ahve to wait until the 7 month point if it's not their home resort...in which case it'll probably be booked up already.
