We are getting ready for our 1st visit as DVC members at our home resort. I am in the process of packing as we are leaving this Saturday. We are staying at BWV and have a couple of questions:

1) Are there towels available at the pool side or do we need to bring our own?

2) We were at HH in March and noticed that we could check out videos for free at the merchantile. Are there videos for free check out at BWV?

Anything else we need to know?

Thanks for your help!

There are towels at the pool area and there are videos available free to members. (Unless things have changed, there aren't any VCR's in the studios).

hi: just got back from our home. towels are by the pool. you can get the videos from the community hall by the quiet pool. they are complimentary for dvc members. community hall was open until 10 pm. any other questions, just post.

Thanks for filling me in that there aren't VCRs in the Studios at BWV. The Studio that we stayed in at HH had a VCR. I'm surprised about this.

A few months ago we stayed at the disney instute with cash. There was no VCR in the room, but they delivered and set one for free upon request. I wonder if they would do the same for a stay paid with points in a studio at a DVC resort such as BWV.

Has anyone tried this??

I never asked so I don't know for sure, but it doesn't appear as if the Studios at BWV are set-up to accommodate VCRs. The TV case/dresser combo (the only dresser you get in a studio, BTW) is bolted to the wall and doesn't easily allow you to run wires behind it although it can be done.

I rented a VCR from Blockbuster Video on the Central Florida Parkway just east of Sea World (take I-4 east from WDW and take the Sea World exit, takes no more than 15-minutes from BWV). It was $9.95 for 5-days with no deposit (I had a Blockbuster card -- don't know if deposit would be required if you don't have a card). With a little effort I was able to move the TV case/dresser just enough to get my arms behind the unit and make the necessary connections.

There is also a Publix in the shopping center with the Blockbuster which made it a very convenient destination.
