I shared with DH that I was worried about getting to MK on EE day, with some recent postings about the early busses getting people there after 7:30 and all EE advantage is gone. His idea? Take a cab! Has anyone done this? How much? And do they drop you off at the gate or at the TTC? (I suppose they could drop us off at the Contemp. and we could walk).
This might be an option--have a cab get us at 7 and no worries about being late. EE is important with the kids, as I like getting fantasyland out of the way early while it is not crowded.

Hi Robin. I was one of those that posted about the not making it to MK EE from BWV on time. A man that was also waiting for the buses said he took a cab before and it was $12. I think he took it to one of the MK resorts. I'm not sure where the cab would drop you off, but I would think it would be at the TTC. Still might be quicker than the bus. I wonder if it might work going to the Beach Club to catch the bus since the bus is full when it gets to the BW. It would be a longer walk, but you'd probably be able to get on the first bus.

I'm very interested in this question too....we leave tomorrow! Anybody have a strategy for insuring we make it on an early MK bus? E.G. What's the route among the 4 resorts sharing buses with BWV....where's the first and last pick-ups?

We always caught the bus at the Beach Club (because we were staying there) at just around 7:05, and got to MK at about 7:25, I think. We didn't stop at the BW though!! I don't like this. :(

If you do take a cab, who do you call, and when do you call?

As of last weekend, the return route from MK was YC, BC then BWV. Sometimes it stopped at Swan and Dophin first. I assumed that the route was the same to MK since the buses were usually almost full when it got to BW. As for strategies, I would say get to the bus stop before 6:50 (which is when we got there), but I don't know if there is a bus that arrives earlier than that. If there isn't, there isn't much you can do unless you have a car or take a cab. Hopefully, the bus transportation isn't that bad all the time so people don't have to look for other ways to get there.

There should be a bus at the stop to pickup at least 1 hour before park opening. I would call 407-WDW-RIDE right away to verify that.
Then, while your on the line ask them why after paying the kind of money you are, that you are forced to cram, shove, stuff in a bus with 6 major resorts (Swan, Dolphin,Yacht club, Beach club, Boardwalk Inn, Boardwalk Villas). It is not good business sense, and they need to hear it from everyone. If you pay for a cab they will think that it is a happy day and the system works perfectly.
Now after you talk to them and get a cupful of crapola about how great the system is and you still want to do your own thing, the cab cannot go to the gate or even the bus stop. they will take you to the TTC which is a mistake.
Your idea is great!! In fact have the cab let you out right at the security gate of the Contemporary for an even shorter walk.
But the bus system should be capable of dropping you off in time for EE, If they can't TELL THEM!!

Good Luck

The bus service issue concerns me. We will be staying at bmv in august and would like to take advantage of ee days at mk. Are there any other transportation options other than a cab.

When we were at BWV in March, the ee bus to MK was an express. Driver said they had the MGM bus moving people to MK before MGM opened. The bus was BWV to MK only, didn't pick up at other Epcot resorts first.

We did it a few times no big problem, not to say that the time of the bus was consistant but we always got a bus between 6:55 and 7:10.

Coming back most times we took the Swan bus and walked back to BWV rather than wait for the loop.

We found it easy to hop a ride to the Contemporary form BWV and then walk across the street to MK on those early mornings.
