I thought I remember reading on these boards that there are a few studios at BWV that sleep five people (all over the age of 3). Am I correct?

I'm on the waitlist for BCV, but I'm still considering BWV for this reason.

Thanks for any info! :sunny:

I am guessing but I doubt the studios do, but the one bedrooms tho not "official" will. I have a similar problem and that is what i found out so far.

I don't know where it is but there was a thread on the Dis that dealt with this same thing this month saying they had booked a studio with 5 in it booked all 5 in the room through MS but I can't find it right now

I stayed in a BWV with my family of 5. You need to request a room with a daybed and that is where your 5th person sleeps. My room was a little tight though, but we managed.

We just closed on a Boardwalk resale. Before we bought resale, I spoke with a guide about buying Boardwalk direct from Disney. She told me that the Studio Plus rooms at Boardwalk do accomodate 5 people. I told the guide that our youngest is 3 and she said that a Studio Plus is no problem. They have a small day bed that will accomodate a young child. However, I read somewhere else (can't remember where right now) that MS will not guarantee a Studio Plus when you book, but will put all 5 names on the reservation. Of course, this is all based on what I was told, not on personal experience.

The studio plus is only a request and cannot be guaranteed. It has a queen sized bed, a double sleeper sofa and the deacon's bench with a thin foam pad on it. It is about the size of a crib if that big. My son attempted to sleep on it when he was 5 and found it very uncomfortable.

If you have five people in your party, you really should book at one bedroom at a minimum. The studio plus really isn't suitable for five. Even with the one bedroom you will have to provide your own bedding and extra linen for the fifth person.

Thanks for your replies everyone! :sunny:

Tissa ~ thanks for posting the pic of that "daybed", definitely not good for sleeping on. I appreciate it. :goodvibes

Yes, you can book a BWV studio for 5 people, with a request for a daybed. When I did this MS did indicate that the daybed would be suitable for a small child, and they do require the ages of the children for any reservation. I have no idea if they would give you a hard time trying to book a studio for 5 adults.

That was my thread. It got locked, because there is an official occupancy thread that covers the topic. This thread will have a short life, I am afraid.

Anyway, I got my confirmation letter in yesterday's mail, and we are confirmed as a family of 5 in a studio at BWV, with a REQUEST for a non smoking vacation home and a REQUEST for a child-size daybed.

Since requests are not guaranteed, it will be interesting to find out if there is one available when we check in. If they confirmed us as a family of 5, they can't turn one of us away, can they?

:rotfl2: So true, but yet, all 3 of my kids will fight over who will get to sleep in it, the one night we are there! :hourglass

I have one of these reserved for this summer at BWV for my DH's family which includes 3 adults, 1 teen, and 1 six year old.

Here is a link to some discussion about it:

There is another picture of it too. My reservation says:

5 Guest

Request Studio Plus (not guaranteed).

We hope we get it, but if we don't the six year old will be fine on the floor in a sleeping bag. We just needed a place to fit 5 people with only a few points.

I hope they continue to allow this reservation because there seems to be a lot of families with 5 and right now this is the only DVC option for a studio with 5 (that I know about--someone mentioned that VB had rooms for 5 at the Inn part, but I haven't been able to confirm it and we aren't planning to go there this year.)

I had a similar experience, where they took the reservation for 5 (my little one is 3) for the studio and then when I called to make another reservation, they looked at my previous reservation (who knows why) and said that I couldn't put 5 in a studio, that they would turn me away. Then why did they take the ressie in the first place? It was really my first negative experience with DVC. I do know that I need to move up to the 1 bdrm soon, but I was hoping a few more trips before we need to use double the points.

WOW, that is not what my confirmation says. It says REQUEST child-sized daybed.

I wonder if that means mine is guaranteed???? :confused3

In fact, if you had put a lump of coal in there with them the night before, next morning you'd have a diamond.

No, it says the same thing using different words. Yours says you have requested a child sized daybed. Those exist in the studio plus rooms. Hers says she requests a studio plus room - those have a child sized daybed. Since the CMs type in requests, they can be worded any way the CM puts them in (which is one reason they aren't guarenteed - it isn't like they have reserved you a studio plus room, they've simply made note on the reservation - they could do the same for every studio guest staying at BWV that night). If you want to request an elephant in your room, the CM can type that in (don't know if they WOULD, but they COULD).

My concern was her reservation actually made note of it not being guaranteed. Mine does not say that, and the CM did not even mention to me it was not guaranteed.

Our first visit to the BWV we too requested a unit with a daybed. We did get our request. Thankfully I was for warned from these boards not to expect more then a wooden bench with a slightly padded cover. Yep, thats exactly what it was. Good thing we brought the aerobed. When I think of a daybed, I think of something a little bit different. This time we are goint with two studios. Good luck with your request, I hope you get it, but hope you have a plan B just incase you don't.

I talked to two CMs about this room on two different occassions and both said it was not guaranteed. One did say they try to save these rooms for those who request it for the 5th person, but that doesn't mean you will get it. I then asked if we could bring an air mattress as a back up, and they said yes, and I then ask, "But there won't be a problem having the 5 in the room, right?" and they said no, it wouldn't be a problem.

I did all of this before I invited our family to join us because if we couldn't get a room for 5 then I was out of points and wouldn't be able to invite them (and didn't want to get their hopes up).

I'm glad to see others are booking this too. If you read on this DIS board it was starting to make me nervous that I booked something that wasn't allowed and maybe when I showed up they would tell me it was wrong and I couldn't check in our family! But my reservation has all 5 listed and all of their names and # of Guest says 5, so I don't think there will be a problem except for the possibility of not geting the daybed. I am having DNephew bring a sleeping bag for the floor if they don't get the daybed.
