My DH and I stayed at the BW 11 years ago on our honeymoon. We haven't been back to the BW since. We are sneaking off for a long weekend in March and I've booked a studio with a preferred view. Does the preferred view mean a boardwalk view or can it also be a garden view?

Can anyone suggestion a specific area of #'s?

TIA!

You will only have a BW view if your confirmation letter says BW view. Otherwise your confirmation will say preferred pool/garden view. If you have the latter you may want to call MS and ask for a room overlooking the Village Green (the grassy area between the boat dock and the BW lobby). These rooms have a partial BW view.
Have a great trip!

We booked a preferred non boardwalk View and ended up with a wonderful courtyard view that overlooked trees, the boat docks, boardwalk, and balcony areas. It was wonderful. Studio # 3065. Close to elevators too!

Those are the Village Green rooms. There are not many of them and they are a popular request.

Thank you for your help!

I thought there were two categories, standard view (which looks at what?) and then preferred view (which would look out towards the boardwalk itself, but not necessarily ON the boardwalk). Does this mean there is a third category? My confirmation letter says that we have a garden/pool view. When we stayed at the BW b/f, our room overlooked a garden, but we were up high enough to see over the next section of rooms so we could see the top of Spaceship Earth. I'd love a similar view.

I haven't checked out a resort map. Maybe this will be better understood if I could see it!

Thanks again!!!

There are 3 room categories but 2 of the categories (pool/garden and BW) are both considered "preferred" and the point costs are the same. Here is a map that Granny provided that will help:

The small red section between the blue and green is the Village Green section. It is all pool/garden studios.

I use this map from time to time myself and it comes in handy. I just want to compliment jekjones1558 for citing Granny as the creator of the map. I have seen it a few times without that citation. Nice job jekjones1558.

Wow, JekJones. That was very very helpful!! Thank you so much! I'll let you guys know how we make out. I am considering doing a live trip report, since I will have less to worry about w/out the kids along!

Thanks so much!

We love the "Villiage Green" View! Made a request for it when we made our reservation, at check in was told it was not available, but the CM called someone and suddenly it was available? Nice view try to get a higher floor to see fireworks....Shawnpirate:

If I can't get Village Green, are there any other rooms (preferred view/non boardwalk view studios) that get a glimpse of fireworks or the top of Spaceship Earth? By looking at the picture, I see the lower ends of the backward C's of the preferred rooms. I am wondering if those rooms that face towards EPCOT and are on an upper floor, if they'd spot anything?

I know I am being over analytical. If anyone has stayed in a room that fit the bill, please let me know. I would love to get a similar view as our honeymoon (Our view looked over the boardwalk view rooms and saw the top of Spaceship Earth, some fireworks). I know that the CM's at check in haven't been that helpful to me in the past as far as views. Sections, yes, but direction of view no.

I can't believe that we leave in 10 days. Once we get there, I know I won't care where we are looking, I'll be THERE!!! Gives me something to focus on until then!!! (Better worrying about the view than the flight! I hate to fly!)

The "backward c rooms" all face the canal, not Epcot. Some of those rooms, especially upper floor, have a partial view of Fantasmic fireworks (though currently Fantasmic is only scheduled for Thur. and Sun. while you are there). Good luck. Hope you get Village Green. Let us know!

I've had a preferred view only once and I can tell you where you DON'T want to be-where I was. It was in the furthest "L" to the left, facing the canal. Well, theoretically facing the canal. Actually, my studio was tucked back in a corner, over a doorway, and all I could see was the sidewalk below me and walls to the sides. I'm not sure of the room #, but it was on the fourth floor and I THINK it was 4033. I stayed one night there, then transferred to a BW view-one was (I think) 4033, the other 4029.

Thank you for all your help! I'll let you know how I make out!

Praying for warmth! ;)
