Ugh. Help me choose. I have a room booked for DD19 and I at POFQ, but, IF I can snag a BWV Studio, I'm wondering if I should switch! Help me decide.

Dates: 12/12 - 12/17
Party: Just myself and DD19

Plan as of now is to just do one day at Epcot, one day at DHS and one day MK. No hoppers.

NO Genie+....we are just going to roll with it (it's not our first trip, just our first time at WDW at the holidays), just taking it all in.

IF there is MVMCP this year, we'll do that as our "MK" day

We can go all day from rope drop to closing time, so will switching to BWV for the extended evening hours (if those are even still a thing in December) matter?

I will note that EVERY single trip since 2008 that I have booked, I ALWAYS book POFQ first and then change my mind. I don't know why, I just do. We've stayed at Pop, WL, AKL, YC and DD stayed in an AKV Studio last summer with her friends for a senior trip.

What would be your deciding factor?

The biggest difference for us would be that POFQ has 2 beds in the room, while BWV Studio is a bed and a pullout. If that doesn't matter to you, it would be tough to beat the location of BWV for a trip you plan to spend long hours at EP and HS. Our choice would be BWV, if you can get one.

Currently, if the extended evening hours schedule holds, EP hours would be the Monday you arrive. That might make it a perfect day to check in to BWV and then spend a long night at EP. But as you mention, that could be subject to change. Good luck with your decision!

I love POFQ in December! :)
It’s a great place to relax during busy times. That would be my choice.

But if it’s just the 2 of you, and you’re not planning on enjoying the resorts at all, I’d book Pop for the skyliner and savings, and consider adding Genie+.

I prefer the location of BWV, but the sofa beds in the studio are not comfortable, IMHO.

I don't know if you would even be able to get a BWV studio in mid-December, so maybe it's a moot point. Popular resort, popular room type, popular time of year.

I don't know if you're thinking of trying for a cash resie through Disney, or trying to rent points. If the latter, the Mods probably will delete your dates from your post.

I really love POFQ because it's such a beautiful resort, especially after a long Disney day. We had a river view and it was so relaxing. Plus beignets. But you might get extra hours with deluxe, and that could be the exchange from not doing genie plus.

The deciding factor for me would be price. If price isn’t an issue than absolutely I would go for a deluxe hotel for the extended hours especially during holiday season and it’s just the two of you so y’all are able to stay up late and “crash” at hotel later even if on an imperfect bed.

I was looking at points through DavesDVC?? And have not even checked to see if anything is even available. I was just nosing around his site!

A studio is way less than POFQ....IF I can book on points, which I haven't even checked if anything is available. I also worry about the cancellation part. I can cancel my package at POFQ right now. Once I book on points (if I can even get something), I'm stuck. And things always tend to "happen"!

So I hadn't even considered Skyliner? Do you use that in lieu of buses? Genie+ just seems stressful to me. I don't want my nose in the phone my whole trip. We really want to take it all in. Tour resorts on our 1 "off" day and arrival day. I don't know. I'll change my mind 1000x before we go. Disney stresses me out!

From Pop to Epcot/HS, yes. They will only run buses if the Skyliner is shut down.

I think you should look into this now because I suspect it will answer your question for you. The first half of December is EXTREMELY popular for DVC and I suspect your dates won't be available to begin with.

EDIT: I just checked. It's not available.

HA! Thanks. Makes my decision to stay at POFQ that much easier :)
