BWV(Studio) or BWI(Standard)

Is one better then the other?

We have stayed at the BWI....can't remember anything about the BWV.

Has anyone stayed at a BWV Studio?

A BWV studio will have 1 queen bed and 1 double sleeper sofa. Some studios have a small daybed (very small, more like a bench). BWI rooms have 2 queens and a larger daybed. A BWV studio has a kitchenette (small fridge, microwave, toaster, coffeemaker).

In my mind, a BWV studio is more suited for a couple rather than a family, especially with more than 1 child. A BWV 1 or 2 bedroom is great for a family.

BWV Studios do have a queen bed and a queen sofa-sleeper (I asked last time we were there) with small kitchenette.

BWI Standard rooms have two queen beds and SOME have a daybed. It is a daybed for a child, no larger than 4' tall. If you choose this, make sure to request the daybed option both at time of booking as well as at check-in.

I would have to agree with DebbieB in that a BWV Studio is more suited for a couple. The sofa rather than a second bed is nice for lounging around and watching TV.

The sleep sofas in the BWV studios make into a double size bed, not a queen size.

The kitchenette includes a microwave, under-counter refrigerator, sink, toaster and coffeemaker. It is stocked with ceramic mugs, glass tumblers and paper bowls, paper plates and plastic ware.

We have 2 sons 7 and 12...I checked out the pictures of the BWV studios...we like the rooms in the BWI better...

I double checked my memory by calling the resort this afternoon and they assured me the BWV sofa beds fold out to queen beds. Either way, it is still a sofa bed rather than a real bed.

You will enjoy BWI. At check in, be sure to ask for a room with a view. You never know, it might just get you a better view. Can't hurt to ask.

Also, be sure to try the Cinnamon Yummies at the Bakery!

To clarify, the sofa beds in the living rooms (of the 1, 2 & 3 bedroom units) are queen size. The sofa beds in the studios / second bedrooms are definitely double size.

FWIW, I am 100% positive! We are DVC members whose home resort is the BWV and we have stayed there many times. Whoever you talked to at the resort either did not understand the question or was misinformed.

My curiosity got the best of me, so I phoned a dear friend who works at BW FD and asked her to go measure the sofa beds(in Studio) for me. She thought I was crazy, but humored me. She said she and a manager actually went to measure it, just so I would have a second opinion. (She knows how picky I am about things.)

The sofa bed (blue and white stripe sofa) was the exact same size as the bed, which is a queen. The sofa does look smaller than the sofas in the one bedrooms, but it is actually the same size. Amazing how vertical stripes do make something look thinner!

Yep, I agree (as a DVC member) that both sofa beds are Queen size.

I am also a DVC member home resort BWV...we always get a 2 bedroom....which is a 1 bedroom and studio connected at BWV...and the pull out couch is definately a queen as the above posters have stated...not a full like you have mentioned..

I stand corrected! (But I was just so sure that the sofa bed in the bedroom was smaller than the one in the living room and we've stayed in them many times)!
