The pictures shown so far are great, but don't forget, not all SV rooms have views that good.
I'm guessing only people who had above average Std Views bothered to take pictures. How many are taking pictures of views that aren't so good....
We've had SV rooms on numerous occassions. Some views are better than others. But for the point difference, and considering how much time we're even in the room, the SV makes sense. We've had BW view and it's very nice, but is a little noisier. If you've never had a BW view, you should do it at least once just for the experience. After that, SV works fine.
We've done standard view a few times - the worst view we had was on the ground floor, so looking out you mostly saw the lawn rising in front of you to the drive. We've had some views blocked by trees - but there have always been other spots on the balcony of a two bedroom where you could peek past the trees. We generally take that over BW View because I'm "value aware" (my kids call me cheap) unless we have guests we want to impress.
The other word of warning to everyone saying "well, that doesn't look bad" - these rooms are a mere 20% of the resort - and the value of the room means they generally go darn fast - they are often not available at the seven month window - and between October and New Years, require calling very quickly after the eleven month window opens. Likewise, the Boardwalk view mentioned is another 20% of the resort, and also books quickly. Preferred views are the most common views at BWVs.
