BWV owners and friends-

Couldn't find a great place to post this so just starting from scratch.

First visit is on the radar and I'm trying to figure out breakfast. We are pretty basic, pre-DVC we would ship cereal and misc. supplies the week before. I'm OK paying a little extra to avoid that hassle and wondering if we can get by packing what we can in luggage and/or buying what we need at Screen Door or walking to Speedway.

Is everything on the resort order forms available "live" at the store, like coffee creamer? Anything else they stock or other helpful hints, Screen Door vs. Speedway? Having a toaster is going to feel like the Ritz!

What exactly are you looking for, other than coffee creamer?

Yes, coffee creamer :)

Basics like cereal, bagel & cream cheese, that kind of thing. Without staying there before, I’m trying to figure out if between the two we could get “enough” to make it work for a split stay. The order form has a lot of that stuff but trying to avoid a surprise if that’s more of a special order and Screen Door doesn’t stock.

Maybe I’m just paranoid.

Just curious, but how are you getting to BWV from the airport?

You should also consider Picabu over at the Dolphin. They have a small stock of grocery items. We often buy a few things there. Check to see if there is still a 20% discount for DVC Members. (Haven't been sine December of 2019, so not sure if it's still valid at the Swan& Dolphin). You'd have to show a Member card to get it.

they had limited supplies but plenty to get by! Creamer in cold case and bread stuff PB, etc on shelf! We did go to speedway for a gallon of water to use to make coffee. they used to sell those but didnt have them at screendoor.

We get a mix of breakfast stuff between the Screen Door and the Boardwalk Bakery. Screen Door has the creamer, milk, basic bread/bagels, yogurt, eggs, frozen stuff, and whole fruit--and you can use your DVC 20% off discount there. At the bakery, We got yogurt parfaits with berries and granola, fruit salad (melons, etc), and pastries (there is more in the shop than listed on mobile order...got almond croissant there!)

BWV on my last trip had liquid pods of shelf stable coffee creamer in the room. 8 of the little cups. I can't do powder unless there is no way to get a liquid but I like these. And since they come every day, they gave me what I needed. (I didn't need 8 a day, but maybe every 2-3 days they gave me more.)

Half and half is what I prefer, but since I fix a coffee in my refillable cup and walk with it on my morning adventure, the pods are fine since I would stop at BC or the Bakery to top off. And Beach Club Marketplace opened before BW Bakery/Screen Door before March 2020 - not sure what's up now. This is only relevant to people who fall out of bed and fix coffee and leave the room at 5:30ish to walk around the lake. There are more than just me out there but most are running. I'm meandering.

I've been in the Speedway, but I have never walked over there in 21 years. I maybe should put it on my list. They might have donuts.

If it was distilled water, Screen Door still has it. They just keep it in the back room and you have to ask for it.

I always get a box of Cheerios and container of skim milk at the Speedway. Even with the DVC discount at the Screen Door, cereal is expensive due to the packaging. Some may prefer the SD’s small selection of a variety pack of single-serving boxes. Speedway also has beer and soft drinks at a fraction of the SD prices.

we asked and yes they had distilled for cpap machines, we were looking for the gallon of Spring water. I was sure to ask before we walked to the speedway for it. we picked up beer too there!

Does anyone know about the alcohol selection at Screen Door? Specifically, tequila if we want to make some margaritas in our villa :-)

They have (really overpriced) beer. Also some wine, hard liquor (not sure about tequila but they had moonshine) and refrigerated premixed cocktails. We have purchased some bottles of wine and a bottle of long island ice tea recently - prices weren't great but not too bad. For beer, Speedway is going to be much much cheaper than the Screen Door.

Magical Express.
(Do what you know, while you can.) So no grocery stop on the way, if that’s where you were going. I should have specified upfront.
Yep, that's where I was going with that. On our last trip in April, we did a grocery delivery (we didn't get enough water and breakfast items) that only included a $5 delivery fee. There was no minimum either.

Thanks to all for the comments and suggestions.
We need this trip badly!

I believe they do. I saw rum among a number of bottles on the shelf last week but I don't specifically remember tequila. You can always pack a bottle and save some money. We bought reusable wine bags and use them all the time for packing alcohol bottles. Never had a broken bottle yet.

We used a grocery delivery person/service for the first time ever in March. i thought it was great especially since we didn't have a car at the beginning of our trip. She was a furloughed cast member so the fee she charged i felt went to help her out. Our communication was great & it was comforting to know she made sure our order was fulfilled & everything was waiting for us at bell services when we got off the Magical Express.
