My family of 6 will be staying at BWV 2 bedroom lockoff standard view. 2 of our party have never been to Disney. Any requests I should put in? Such as high floor or close to elevators?

thank you

Booked through Points. Is there a difference in the rooms based on cash or points?

What view did you book? Boardwalk view, Pool/Garden view, or Standard view?

Yes but just wondering if I should request a higher floor and if hallways are long to request near elevators

Yes, and I’d make near elevators my primary request and high floor my secondary, because the porte cochere view isn’t nearly as noisy as it used to be now that remote airline luggage checkin is no more, but the walk to the standard view villas near the tennis courts is still just as long!

However, if you expect to spend a lot of time at DHS, those villas “near tennis courts” are halfway there if you take the stairs to the exit at the end of the hall.

If it were me, I'd ask for upper floor and a room number ending in x083 or higher. The views closest to the porte cochere are unappealing to me and I'd rather have a longer hallway walk for a less people-y view. The peoplewatching may be enjoyable for you, though.

Can see lots of pictures from the various rooms here: https://touringplans.com/hotel_maps/254/building?utf8=✓&hotel=219&building=254&filters[rate_date]=02/12/2023&filters[view]=384&filters[lobby_distance]=any&filters[transportation_distance]=any&filters[accessibility]=any&filters[floors]=any&filters[rack_rate]=any&filters[ug]=&filters[sound]=any&filters[balcony]=&filters[connect]=&no_draw=false&rooms=true&floor=4
Thank you. Great diagram

There's one other perk to the rooms way down at the DHS end, if you don't utilize the lobby often. Aside from being closer to DHS for the walkway, those end rooms are pretty convenient for the bus stop, as there's a door down at the end with a short walk across the street to the busses.

Personally, because view isn't important to me when I'm in the standard view rooms, I request 2nd floor...close to the lobby is choice #1, and 2nd choice is all the way down at the end so I'm close to the bus stop. 2nd floor for me is better than 1st, as the elevation provides a little more privacy, but remains easy coming back from the bus only dealing with 1 flight of stairs back to the room. On higher floors, you either have to be OK walking up 2-3 flights, or have to take the elevators, then walk that long long hall.

Note also that 2nd floor IS the lobby level at Boardwalk - you enter on floor 2.

In fact, my favorite 1-bedroom standard view is down that end - I think the room number is 2123 - it sits right on the curve of the building over the entrance door - has a strange layout because it stretches around the corner, and a huge balcony that wraps around two sides. And for a standard, the view is very garden/water like and peaceful:

Will you be using the stairs to get to or from you room? Will you be walking to Epcot or Hollywood Studios? I actually prefer the rooms towards the end of the hallway because they're closer to Hollywood Studios, and I use the stairs, so the floor and distance to the elevator is less relevant.

The hallways can be very long, so if you hope to shorten that, ask for close to the lobby/elevators. If you're interested in a fireworks view then ask for a high floor in most you can see the high fireworks over the rooftop of Boarwalk Inn. I rarely get any room requests fulfilled, but you have a better chance asking for what you want most. Have a great stay!

ETA: You must've been fast, I've been online many mornings at 8 a.m. trying to book a 2 bed and standard was never available. I've just completed walking a week in January 2024 in a 2 bed boardwalk view. Would've been nice to save the points.

In 20 years I've had my requests at BWV met ONCE. And that was for two rooms close together because my sister was on her cancer recovery trip (notation in the reservation) with Boardwalk View rooms. So be realistic in terms of your chances. But in twenty years of not getting what I've asked for....middle of the resort is nice...its far enough up for you to not have people walking by your windows, its far enough down to take the stairs to the pool and no one wants the middle of the resort - they either want the end for the shorter HS walk and the walk to the bus stop or near the elevators, and most of them want a high floor. If your kids are at the gill-growing age, being able to take the stairs to the pool is FANTASTIC. Your chances with a standard view room of having your view blocked by trees, regardless of where you are in the resort, are pretty good, so view.....well, its less points for a reason.

Frankly, I wouldn't want to be so high up that I couldn't do the flights of stairs, for me that's about floor three. The elevators at BWV are not great - they are small, near the end of the hall, and fill with one ECV or two strollers or someone checking in or out with all their luggage. And since we don't have strollers or an ECV, we reserve our elevator usage to pretty much just checking in and out.

I think I'm really jaded, I really don't care about seeing fireworks at WDW. I care about moving around easily, and people not looking through my windows.
