BWV- refurb studio or 1 bedroom?

Currently we have a split stay booked with 3 adults, 2 kids with three of the nights at BWV in a pool view studio. I am assuming that we will get a refurbed studio with the fold down bed (since we have booked 5 in the room). Would it be better to waitlist a one-bedroom first night available, second night not available, third night available), even though chances are better that the room won't be refurbed and we will need to bring the fifth person bedding?

I have the points available to use, and would bank them if we don't use them on the upgrade.

We won't be spending much time in the room, don't really plan on using the kitchen that much, and were fine in an AKV Value studio with the four of us. The fifth person will be my mom and she has no issues sharing a bed with one of the kids.

At this point there are more refurbed rooms than not so no reason to assume you'd not get a refurbed room. Personally I'd prefer a 1BR vs the studio or would you consider 2 studios with a request to be close together? With the 1BR you'll have to provide both the bed and the bedding as you'll have 1 king and 1 queen sleeper sofa.

Also, until the refurb is done there's actually no guarantee that you'll get a refurbed studio although I'd guess they will try their best to accommodate that.

Frankly if you can do the AKV value studio with four and survive, you can probably do the BWV studio with five. You do not say when you are going but the refurb of the rooms is well along and could be done within the next couple months, and even now a high floor request if met assures a refurbed room. It is just that the 1BRs will still only sleep four after being redone. (It seems you are assuming 1BRs are being done after the studios and that is not the case; the resort is being done in sections and all rooms in a section are being refurbed before moving onto another section.)

Nevertheless, like Kat4Disney, I would personally want the 1BR in your situation and bring something for the fifth to sleep on. The 1BR gives you a lot more space, a large bathroom, the kitchen and w/d. But again it sounds like you would be OK with the crowded studio.

decisions decisions! Thank you for the insight!!! We are going Late April/Early May of this year and I saw a 1 bedroom standard available 2 of the 3 nights and my mind started wandering....

It looks like the studios are refurbed with the pull down bed on which the tv sits. It holds up to 150lbs according to the specifications on the bed we had at the poly. Also the room is big enough to put a air mattress with the couch being pulled out and the single bed being down. Just have to move the table and chairs into the corner.

I may be wrong, but my understanding is that the refurbished one bedrooms do not have murphy beds--just the sofa bed & king bed, so you would need the extra bedding either way with the one bedroom.
