We got lucky and Disney called us this morning and had a 1 bedroom prefered at BWV. We were on the waiting list and had just closed on our membership last week. Our trip is in 5 weeks.
Our home resort is BCV and who knows, just maybe something at BCV will open at the last minute. We are thrilled that we are in the area for out first trip.
My questions are as follows.
Since we are getting a prefered room at this late date would it be possible to ask for a perticuliar location or is that out of the question.?
Is there room service at the BWV?
Are there any restuarants inside of BWV for guests or are all the options on the Board Walk.? Thanks Dennis

I don't think it could hurt to ask for a particular room view or location at any point but maybe somebody else has more experience with this.

I believe there is room service, and you are right that all the options are restaurants that are actually on the Boardwalk. I think room service food comes from some combination of the actual Boardwalk restaurants.

First of all, congratulations and welcome home! Glad to hear that you were able to get a resevation. Even though your home is BCV, I hope you will enjoy the BWV - can't imagine why you wouldn't, though, LOL.

It's not too late. Call MS and ask the CM to add your requests to the reservation. Make sure you list them in the order of importance to you. Most list their smoking preference first. It's best to ask for general things such as view of the main/quiet pool, upper/lower floor or close/not close to the elevators.

Yes, there is. You should find a menu in the room when you check in.

None of the Boardwalk restaurant options are accessible via the interior hallways of the BWI/BWV, with the exception of the Belle Vue Lounge, and that really isn't a restaurant. This room (on the BWI side of the lobby) sometimes offers continental-type breakfast items. You can almost always have a drink there in the evening, but I don't believe they serve food with the drinks. It's an interesting place - worth a quick visit just to check out the "decor".

There will be many, many restaurant choices within a 5-10 minute stroll from your room. Don't forget to look at your perk sheet when you check in - several nearby restaurants offer DVC members a 10% discount. Most of those in the Swan/Dolphin offer 20%. You won't go hungry!

Best wishes -

I just booked a last minute trip for BWV. I asked the CM if I should bother to add any requests since I booked so late. She told me yes, it couldn't hurt.

I too scheduled a last minute trip in Jan 04 to BWV and the only available room was a preferred view. It was awesome, right on the corner so I had windows on 2 walls and looked out over the Luna pool and canal.... just lovely. You can make requests as I did and you may get some and not get some. I requested BW view, but got pool view which I loved. I also requested Non-smoking and got it.

The room service was wonderful and I thought the choices were great. They have a normal room service menu w/ generic soups and sandwiches (all very good) and then they have a restaurant selection in which they provide 3 or 4 selections from the restaurants on the boardwalk. I had the crab cakes from the Flying Fish (to die for) and my DH had the Chicken and Cous Cous dish from Spoodles (very delish). We picked up a bottle of wine from the general store below and had dinner brought up, put the kids to bed, and enjoyed a quiet evening together in our room. We so enjoyed the food, service, quiet, and low stress, that we did it again and again. It was that good. Expensive, as you might have expected, but well worth it for us w/ 2 small children.

Hope you enjoy your trip. :wave2:

Thank you for the information. We never thought we would be able to stay in the Epcot,BCV,BWV area with such little notice. We closed on a 250 point BCV only a week ago and it feels so good that we are staying in our favorite part of Disney.
If you add the Swan and Dolphin and the Yacht club and walking to MGM and Epcot I can't imagine a better location.
It is nice to know that we can order room service with such wonderful choices. Dennis:Pinkbounc :bounce: :wave2:
