Hello:
This is my first post here ans what a great board this is!!
My hubby and I are staying @ the BWV in September and I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions about room numbers.
We are renting a 1 BR villa and I don't want to get stuck with a view of the parking lot!
I have requested a water view but they said it was not guarenteed. I would like to be able to view the illumination show from our room. Thanks for any input.

If you are staying in the villas, none of the rooms have parking lot views, unless you go out to the balcony, turn sideways, and squint. The side of the building toward the parking lot is mostly windowless. There are both preferred and standard views, and most of the views are preferred. Preferred means pool view--either the quiet pool or Luna Park pool, a view of the Swan/Dolphin, or boardwalk view. Boardwalk view is the most sought after, and given to members first. Since you posted on this board, I assume you are not a DVC member, which has a separate board. It is almost certain that you will not get a standard view, which is less points for members, and is booked solid at 11 months ahead. These rooms are the ones usually on the front of the hotel, and have the best view of Illuminations. You will probably get a view overlooking one of the pools--these rooms are the most numerous. You can, however, walk over to the bridge between BWVand the Swan/Dolphin, or the bridge over toward Epcot to see Illuminations if you are not going to the parks. You can also see part of the fireworks over at MGM.
Regardless of the location of your accommodations, I am sure you will be amazed. You are getting a separate bedroom with a king bed, a bathroom as large as a bedroom including a whirlpool tub, in-room washer and dryer, and a lving room and kitchen complete with everything you need. This is a luxury resort with all the amenities, which you are sure to enjoy.:p

I can't tell from your post if you reserved from CRO or rented points from a DVC member. If it is member points, they must make the request for you.

Here is a link with some room reports and it will give you some view comments. http://members.aol.com/InstImpres/boardwalk If you ask for a specific room, the odds of getting it are slim. You can use this to give you an idea of “sectional views” to ask for.

Good luck,
Sandy

Thank you for the information. And no I am not a DVC member.
Have not been to Disney in years. We rented the villas as we are goingto be there for 10 days and wanted a little more room to move around in, not to mention the luxury of having a washer and dryer right there to use.
The reason why I thought I might get stuck with a parking lot view is, if you go online (which I did not make my reservations thru, I did it by calling Disney Travel Company), it says that most of the villa's have a parking lot view. Once your qupte comes up online, click on more info by the room description and that is what it says. But I am glad to hear that most of them face the pool at least.

We are not DVC members but decided to stay in the Villas. We definitely made the right decision. It was GREAT!

We stayed in room 2108. It was right above the quiet pool. It had a nice view of the Tower of Terror and the Swan. Very clean room.

Most of the upper floor standard views have a view of the fireworks from Illuminations. The parking lot is in the distance but it's not noticable, you mostly see the front driveway.

Few things here.

First, the Illuminations view rooms are the standard views. From the standard views you do see the front entrance/bus stop/parking lot. So if you want Illuminations view, you need to have a standard view. Chances re you won't get it anyhow, as these rooms go quickly to DVC members.

There are no waterview roms with Illuminations views.

Waterview doesn't mean BW view. It can also mean the canal facing the Swan or MGM. It can also mean a pool (which on higher floors also gives you the canal.
