I'm one of those odd ducks that actually likes the units way, way down at end near MGM. Either that...or about 3/4 of the in a standard view; over looking the parking lot so I can see higher fireworks from Epcot. My two least favorite so far have been pool view and close to the elevator.
My next trip all they had available was a "preferred view"... and a month or so ago I got my form stating that it'd be a "Boardwalk" view. Now... I'm kinda looking forward to it... January... I have visions of sitting and gazing out over the water.. sipping my coffee... watching the launch... ahhhh... especially after finishing the half marathon and coming back and resting my weary feet and getting to watch and cheer on some of the full marathoner right from my own spot overlooking the Boardwalk.
BUT... I was wondering.. what about the units that are over Wyland Galleries.... right there to the left of the lobby coming out of the Boardwalk... are they considered to be Boardwalk view also?
Gee.. now that I've got my mental image all set.. I'm wondering if I might instead not be sitting there cheering the rest of the people on!

Yes. I believe those are considered Boardwalk view.

When we stayed in a studio over the Wyland Studios a few years back they were considered Boardwalk views..

Posting to agree with the others and to sugest that you just add a request to your reservation - far away from the elevators. I'm betting that is an unusual request and that you are quite likely to get it! Good luck!

P.S. I like the same location you do for standard views. Don't mind the walk, the fireworks view is a bonus and the rooms are much, much quieter as the hallway traffic is less.

Enjoy your stay!

Some of the rooms have solid balcony walls, which means you can't watch much sitting down (and I wouldn't want to stand and cheer after running half a marathon).

I am honestly not trying to be a "know-it-all", but we were just there September 27th for 4 nights. We were on the 4th Floor, studio #4055, directly above the gallery and just to the left after you come out to the Boardwalk. We overlooked that beautiful little courtyard, yet could see alot of the Boardwalk. WELL, it was considered a preferred view, but not Boardwalk. I tried to get a Boardwalk view before we left, but couldn't, all sold out. I was more than pleased with that view. I thought it was actually better than a direct Boardwalk view. The CM didn't mention that our reservation had been upgraded to a Boardwalk view, so I definitely feel it was just the general preferred view.

Moonmom,

We will be staying in a GV at BWV for the marathon too. Will be cheering hubby and sister on as they run by! Good luck to you!

We have stayed in the GV on the corner above the general store and Wyland's. Very nice location! I believe it was considered a BW view since the view was mostly the front of the BW and only the master bedroom window looked over the courtyard.

I am mainly just posting so the hubby can see our countdown! He keeps pestering me to post!
