Someone told me that they tried renting DVC points the first week of Dec and BWV are already booked solid because it is Pop Warner week. Just loking for insight as to why the Boardwalk would be so booked since Pop usually stays at the value resorts (or I thought) OR any other info on if this is true/likely.

My mom booked us at SSR for that week and we were hoping to get a ressie at BVC when the booking window opens.

Also, we have gone Pop week in the past and have never really noticed the crowds. I am wondering if we should be worried this year. Has it gotten much busier?

The BWV being booked that week is because it is traditionally one of the busiest DVC times due to lower point costs, lower attendance in parks and holiday decorations being up. I personally booked 8 villas and a grand villa that week due to low cost of points.

This. :thumbsup2 BWV booking has nothing to do with Pop Warner. Being able to walk to DHS for Osborne Lights and Epcot is more in line with why it's booked.

Pop Warner is at WDW that week because it is a slow week for WDW. For DVC that's the week of the annual DVC member meeting. It's also a time for the big Disney convention. It's Christmas parties. And points are low. Nothing to do with DVC and PW.

So to me it sounds like you don't need to blame Pop Warner, you just need to blame this guy! :thumbsup2

Thanks for the quick replies! I guess I just have to hope we get lucky and a room opens at BWV when my mom's booking window opens. It sounds like my chances are pretty slim though.

Have a great trip at SSR. It's a wonderful resort.

Hmm.. when is Pop Warner week?

Pop Warner is a league of 8 to 16 year old football players and competitive cheerleaders. They have their games/competitions at Wide World of Sports. They traditionally stay at All Star and a moderate, last year was CBR.

I've been at BWV that week and it wasn't an issue at all. You see them in small groups around the parks but they are no big deal unless you are staying at the same resort.

That week is traditionally very popular with DVC members. I picked BWV as my home resort so that I could get that week at 11 months.

All though Pop Warner as a group does not book DVC resorts, I am sure some parents or rentals are there because of Pop Warner.

However as others have said that is not the reason DVC resorts will be sold out.
