The other day my DH mentioned he was considering running the 2006 marathon. During our last trip we stayed at the WLV and loved it. The boat ride to the MK was a big hit with our then almost 2 year old DS and he took the bus rides to the other parks in stride.

For the next trip we talked about going back to WLV or staying at the BWV to be closer to all the action, more food options, experience a new setting, etc. The Poly is high on the list too for the ease of transportation.

I've read reports of high noise levels at the BWV. At the Poly we won't have the benefit of a 1 bedroom suite, a big plus with an almost 3 year old.

Can you share your experiences especially if you have also stayed at the WLV?

I prefer VWL over BWV since I think the BWV is very busy and can be noisy. The rooms are not noisy, just the resort. I like VWL and BCV because they are much quieter. If you stay at the BWV, you will still have to take a bus to the marathon start because you can't go through Epcot at 4:00 AM. The monorail is very convenient for the marathon.

The layout of the VWL and BWV are very similar. Colors are different.

That is good to know about the marathon start. I think my DH was hoping to avoid the early morning bus ride. My concern is after the marathon. If we stay at an EPCOT resort he's talking about walking back to the hotel. I'm not sure he will be up to it. Have you had any trouble with it? Worse comes to worse, I guess he can always take the bus back.

While we hadn't considered it, BCV looks to be a good option. How are the walking distances to MGM and the Swan & Dolphin from the BCV? From the maps, it looks to be a bit closer to EPCOT.

BCV is very close to Epcot and only about 15-20 minutes by an easy walk to Disney Studios.

You can walk back to the Epcot resorts after the marathon. Or take the boat once you get to the International Gateway.
