BWV or BCV?

Hi everyone! We are considering a stay at WDW this September and the Epcot area hotels are very appealing this time around. We are thinking about a studio at either the BWV or the BCV. Other than the BCV being just a bit closer walk to Epcot what are the other comparisons?

I haven't seen much of pictures of BWV studios, or what their views are like either.

It will just be 2 adults on this trip.

I think you will be happy at both. I have only stayed at BWV in a one bedroom, but we loved it. Stayed at the normal BC resort and I would have to say probably the only difference is the pool. BC pool is awesome, but then you also have access to the BW for dinners, bars, etc. All in all I don't think you could make a bad choice.

We have DVC points at both and prefer the BWV for its style, energy and decor. It just radiates fun

Having said that: one of the interesting things about staying at BCV is that you can bypass the main lobby of the building to get to your villa. It's a separate building, with its own entrance. That can be nice when it's busy busy busy. (And it's rare that the BC lobby isn't busy, between people checking in, heading to the pool, or waiting for one of the meals at the Cape May Cafe...it can be a bit of a zoo sometimes!)

I think the studio rooms are about the same size and layout, so there won't be much difference in that regard. Dunno about the view, though.

We stay at the BWVs every year and our standard view is usually of the waterway between the BW and S/D with a view of the Tower of Terror in the background. Not sure of the views at the BC but others on here have said they don't have much of a view (parking lot or woods) because of where they were built. We love the BW and only stay there now. The villas were just completely renovated and are really nice.

I would go with the Boardwalk Villas because in my opinion they have a much better theme and atmosphere.

Beach Club Villas.

If you stay at BCV, you can always go over to the Boardwalk and enjoy the atmosphere, entertainment and restaurants. However, if you stay at BWV, you can't take advantage of the best part of the BCV - Stormalong Bay.

I heartily agree with this. That having been said, we're not pool nuts, so SAB means very little to us and we're totally happy with the pool choices at BWV. For those who choose based on the pools, most seem to prefer SAB and, therefore, BC/YC. For those who consider the whole package, it seems to be pretty evenly split and we happen to fall on the BW side.

Both are fantastic, in my opinion, we just prefer the Boardwalk.

Not sure what you mean about "standard view?" At BWV there is a booking category called "standard view" that requires fewer points through DVC b/c it looks out on to the driveway of the resort (not a bad view in my opinion for the savings in points).

If you mean the "typical" view at the resorts, at BWV if you are paying cash you would likely get a waterway or pool view since Boardwalk and standard views are pretty much reserved for members staying on points. At BCV there are no booking categories, so you could be looking out onto trees or the pool.

I've stayed at both and love staying at both for their proximity to the parks and the Boardwalk area. Both themes are fun too. I like them both, and I am not a fan of Stormalong Bay. I actually prefer Luna Park pool over SAB.

I know I'm not really helping in the decision-making process here though. Sorry!

That is what I thought I had discovered in all my recent research. BWV were the only availability with a 1 bedroom on my 40% pin. We declined and decided on Poly due to the limited dining avail and the pool is not zero entry at BW. Other than that, it is a pretty resort with a good location. Those are just deal breaker with us while our kids are so little.

I thought those were restaurants at the BW You can also get a pizza and take it back to your room from the boardwalk pizza window, a pre-made sandwich from the bakery and hotdogs, corndogs, nacho's, chicken strips etc. from the boardwalk to go stand

If you really want to be able to swim in SAB then stay at the BC and you can walk over to the BW to eat or just for everything going on at night. If you care more about the view stay at the BW.

What he means is all their restaurants are located outside on the Boardwalk and not inside like the other WDW Resorts, however each time I have went to visit the Boardwalk I never found their restaurant locations to be a problem.

Because the standard BCV view is of trees, the pool or the parking lot. The standard BWV view is the pool or the canal to DHS and if you get the canal view its better than any of those 2 at the BCV's IMOP. One of the best picture we have ever taken was from the 4th floor with a view of the canal/DHS with the boat going by and the swan/dolphin in the background its really a great view. They are talking about the villas in case you didn't notice not the BC/BWI

Also above you didn't say counter service you said restaurants so thats why I said what I did because the BW has many restaurants and its really not hard to walk out on the BW to get to them. The standard view for the Villas at the BWV look out over the canal and pool also. The perfered view is the BW view only now.

I have stayed at them all, and I have to say I do love the BWV much better! another reason that no one mentioned is that the BWV have just recently finished a rehab on the rooms if that matters to you! I can post photos...will be there in a week!!

OK, it's both. There are no restaurants at all inside of the Boardwalk, meaning if you want to get a quick bite to eat, you have to walk outside the hotel and down to the Boardwalk promenade.

If the poster asked about a moderate such as CBR, I'd have said the same thing. She didn't. She asked about the BCV and BWV. BCV has food attached to the hotel so you don't have to leave.
