If your looking for a DVC location in teh Crecent lake area between Epcot and MGM, which would be the better way to go, BCV or a BWV resale (given the info we have now, I know the point chart will be a big determinant).

Thank you in advance for your knowledgable advice.

That's tuff to respond to without actually getting a chance to stay there(BCV). If points charts & price per point were the same, I think I'd go with BCV. But if BCV is $10.00 pp higher plus higher dues and higher points, then I'd look for a resale at BWV.

Based on the "buyers market" that is running the show right now, I would lean towards a resale. I think you are likely to get much more for your money than you would with BCV...

Just my thoughts,
Joshua

If you wish to make the effort, I feel that you'll ALWAYS do better with a resale. We saved a great deal going the resale route, but you have to find a "motivated" seller. In this market, it shouldn't be a problem.

Good Luck,

Well. I have no doubt that BCV will be beautiful and I even had an interest in adding on there before 9-11. Now I don't know anymore. In any case, besides Stormalong Bay, I really consider BWV to be slightly superior. I like the themeing better, and the location wioth views to the Boardwalk is a lot nicer. I will be there in 10 days and who knows, maybe my enthusiasm to add on at BCV will come back.

hi: i think it will depend also on how they structure the points at bcv. if it is set up like vwl (same as bwv preferred view), i would probably just stick with bwv where we already have 2 contracts. if they take away the pool-hopping to sab once bcv are open, maybe then we'd consider an add-on there. it doesn't look like any of the units will really have preferred views, so i'd be just as happy to book a standard view at the bwv.

One big advantage of BWV is the 11-month window to book standard view BWV units.

My guess is that BCV will have same point structure as VWL and the preferred views at BWV.

CaptainMidnight....maybe one more BCV advantage....they might put in more elevators! :D

I think a few more advantages to BCV's are close to Beachs and Creme and close to Cape May Cafe, have you had their all you can eat breakfast and/or Dinner?

I look at this somewhat differently but here's some points that come to mind. First, I suspect that pool hopping at SAB will go away with BCV or slightly after it opens. I assume that the points will be actually higher than WLV and that the per point cost and yearly fees will also be higher. I too think that BW has a better overall setup as all of the views at BCV will be "standard" views. While it's possible that BCV will have a different expiration than 2042, I don't think we'll see a difference until the Eagle Pines resort in 2004 or whenever it actually happens.
