Does DVC ever offer promos for these like the ones they have for SSR and AKL right now?

No because the demand for points at those resorts exceeds the supply. There is a waiting list for additional points at BCV and given the demand, those points sell for a higher price as well ($101/pt vs $98/pt for BWV). With BWV points, there may be points available when you call or you may have to go on a waiting list depending on the Use Year you want but the wait will be shorter.

Just FYI, my sales rep I talked to the other day said BCV goes for $95/pt "when he has them."

That's surprising, because we just did an add-on a couple of weeks ago, and I was quoted $101 for BCV. We bought a BWV add-on for $98/point.

He might have stated that without checking his facts. At the time, I was basically asking him if he could justify the current sales price for an SSR add-on versus purchasing through resale. When he heard the word, "resale" he immediately went on the defensive and was trying to find something to sell me that was comparable to the resale market.

Ironically, even though he wasn't very good at justifying their price, we have since decided to purchase an SSR add-on. With the incentives and the current April UY we have that is getting ready to reset, we decided purchasing with DVC is the better option. I don't like reading about how hard the developers points are to use, but maybe we'll get lucky.

I'm planning to call him today to make the deal and I'll ask him to verify a BCV price while I'm at it.

You are correct, I verified with my rep today and he told me the same thing. Either I misheard him or he misspoke. OKW with the new 50-year expiration date is $96/pt. BCV is $101 and BWV is $98/pt. Sorry about that!

I just did an add-on today at BCV and paid $101.

Another one!! I'm not keeping track or anything !:goodvibes You are surely headed towards the 1000 pt. club!:goodvibes

I couldn't resist. It's always best to add on the month before your Use Year. That way, you get double the points without paying any maintenance. I get my Mar 2007 UY points plus my Mar 2008 UY points in just 3 weeks. It's a great deal!

The only way to get a discount on BWV or BCV points directly through Disney would be for them to convert BWI or BC to DVC villas.

Ok, please tell me, why do you buy from Disney directly? There are packages with March UY for $90 on resale, some with lots of banked points too. So if you are willing to pay $10 more, can you tell me why (aside form the quick transaction and no ROFR). Just trying to learn from those with much more experience then me!

Thanks. K

It comes down to SPEED and CONVENIENCE.
  • There are no closing costs
  • I can immediately get the exact number of points that I want without having to wait for the "perfect" contract via resale
  • I can immediately get my same Use Year without any waiting, and the add-on will be a sub-contract of my initial contract without me having to do anything
  • I get my points immediately and am able to make reservations using those points right away (versus 6-8 weeks for resale)
  • No worries about having to face ROFR!
  • I can pay with my Disney Rewards credit card and get points/cash back

DVCMIKE- Do they let you bank them even though you are past your banking deadline?

Congrats on the Add On Mike!

Another 25 points? I'm assuming you didn't have to waitlist for them?

Considering adding on another 25 at the BCV(DEC UY) but was going to wait until November for the reasons you described above, but was concerned with nothing being available then and having to waitlist.

So, there's been a few BCV add on's recently! Congrats, Judy WI!

Our next stay is BCV...can't wait!

Thanks for the insight. So if you do the add on points through Disney, you don't have to transfer points between contracts, right? So if I want to book something at 7 months, it's easy to combine? Just checking.

Being able to charge it on a CC is a huge advantage. That's how I keep getting those free miles to take my vacations.
