BWV or BCV -- advice please?

O.k., imagine if you will... 3 kids, ages 9,8, and 4. Plus me and dh. All love to swim. Favorite parks for all - Epcot and MGM. Our "home" -- BWV (but we have YET to stay there... done OKW numerous times, and recently, VWL). We usually stay about 10 days, and like to "set up camp" once and once only (no spot-hopping)! We always get a 2 br. We usually try for a view of something nice (pool, fireworks, pond); but failing that, we're happy so long as it's not a "dumpster-view", please! :D

So which place -- BWV or BCV? We feel like we're bad owners, never having stayed in our own home even once! THe kids do love Luna Park pool (we "hopped" there at our last visit), although the pool looked like it needed a serious scrubbing. The lock-off only aspect for a 2br at BWV bugs us -- we prefer a dedicated room. And we prefer real beds, not fold-outs. Especially if we bring anyone else like a grandparent or two along... the more big beds, the better. When will BWV be "all done" (at least temporarily!) with their renovations?

BCV has its great points too -- so close to Epcot, SAB pool, and dedicated 2br rooms with real beds (tho' there's no guarantee that we would get one of those rooms, I realize). Did they ever resolve the thermostat issue (motion sensor)?

Should we have a preference? Or should we just go "home" to BWV? I will reserve @ BWV at the 11 month window anyway, but was just wondering if I should stay with that ressie, or try for BCV at the 7 mos window.

THANKS!

Cindy

If you like to swim, try to switch to BCV at 7 months. You can't beat Storm-a-Long Bay pool.

Of course, Boardwalk has great views and community hall for the kids!

It sounds like you could go either way and be happy. The dedicated 2 br and SAB are a plus for BCV though. I know you said you like to set up once but we own at both BCV and BWV and have made the move during our trips. It's an easy move and you should consider spliting resorts to experience them both during your stay. 10 nights split isn't bad. We also own at OKW and the move isn't as seamless from OKW to either BCV or BWV because they are just accross the lake from each other. Something we do when we split is do a few days at one then longer at the other. This way, when we pack, we have a dedicated suitcase for the shorter stay(which is 1st) We then don't have to pack everything for the move just the 1 bag and our toiletries bag. This works for us....spruce

We stayed at BC before the Villas were open and last year we stayed at BWV our home resort. BC had always been my favorite resort, until we were at BWV. It had more going on and seemed lively. BC was a little more quiet. Sure SAB is great, but our daughter loved Luna Park just as much. Don't know if that will help, but we're like you, no changing, we like to stay in one place.

We had no issues with the thermostat when we went last November.

Should you have a preference? Of course you should, but it is *your* preference and you'll have to stay at each to figure it out ;)

Maybe you should just make the BWV reservation and then only switch at 7 months if there is a dedicated 2 BR available.

Either way, you can't lose!

Regarding the thermostat issue, the rooms are just too warm for me. I've stayed there twice and found the place to be way too hot and stuffy. I'd wake up every few hours due to the temperature, throw off the covers, then the A/C would come on. I'd fall back to sleep and repeat the same pattern--all night--for 15 nights. I was exhausted when I left. :(

This is my one regret about having added on there. The place is beautiful, great location, wonderful rooms. But too hot for me.

It all boils down to personal preference and heat tolerance. 68-72 degrees is too warm for me, and my DH is even less tolerant. He has yet to stay there, but it will be very interesting when he does.

We stay at BWV and OKW and love them both. And we toured BCV. They look great. I don't see how you could go wrong at either.

Actually at BCV you can gaurantee a Dedicated 2 bedroom. All dedicateds at BCV have 2 queen beds or 1 queen bed and 1 queen sleeper sofa. Either one will be a reservation, not a request and it is guaranteed. Here are the numbers:

75 Lock off 2 bedrooms (1 queen bed and 1 double sleeper sofa)
25 Dedicated with 2 queen beds
53 Dedicated with 1 queen bed and 1 queen sleeper sofa

Besides my obvious love for BCV, I would stay there if I were you because of the fact that it might be easier to reserve right now before it is sold out. Once it is sold out, it might be a little hard to make a resevation at the 7 month window. You will always be able to reserve at your home resort at the 11 month window.

with a 4 year old I go with BCV - those dedicated are nice for helping to kept the children inside the room. If reminded me more of OKW than BWV - very relaxing.

Both are lovely resorts!
