BWV - Hit me with your best shots

Add me to the list. :cool1:

I just bought in to BWV and just today got my ownership confirmation from Disney. I've been to the boardwalk area, though I've not been inside the resort.

Let the planning begin. :grouphug: Well, I've actually been planning for over a year for fun. I can now plan "for real". :thumbsup2 :cool1:

In 2001 we've been on the Boardwalk but never inside the resort and in 2002 we bought sight unseen (inside anyway) resale. Then In 2003 added on through Disney at (guess where) BWV. We love it there, I walk the boardwalk in the morning at about 6/6:30 with my coffee and sitting on the rockers on the porch is relaxing for us. Hoping to add-on 1 more time at BWV.:woohoo:

Great to hear so many positives... makes me feel we made a good choice. Can't wait for the first trip "home"!

We're "view" fans, so will be trying for a Boardwalk view on our first visit.

Thanks for all the replies!

We bought site unseen too. The only time I ever seen the BW was on a boat ride from Epcot to MGM.

We LOVE everything about it. The BW view rooms are great, but then if you are short on points the Standard view Rooms are good too.

Community Hall is a great place to spend downtime and the roller coaster slide is great!!!!!

But the best part of the BW is at night when all the entertainers come out. They do various acts with volunteers. Also, when everyone is out playing the games and getting hairwraps, riding the surrey bikes, eating ice Cream etc etc. Its just a nice atmosphere.

When my guide offered me SSR I was like "oh I don't know". Then she offered me the BW and I said "Where do I sign"!!

Have a great trip!! The 1st one is so exciting, but so isn't the 2nd and the 3rd .................................. Have FUN!!

Going to BWV for the 1st time in a few months with a 5 and 2.5 year old, any hints?

Our first trip last November was with our then 5 & 2.5 year olds. They slept together on the pullout in the living room in our 1 bedroom and loved it. We had room 5094 and it was at the end of the loooong hallway but the kids loved being able to race down the hall to the room since they knew where it was.
DD5 loved the luna park pool, we couldn't keep her off the slide, she would just keep going on not even paying attention to us.
The kids also loved the surrey bikes, they sat in the front basket and rang the bell.
The closeness to EP, DS and the restaurants at Y&BC are great too.
The performers at night are wonderful.
Our room had a view of the luna park pool but if we looked to the left we could see the fireworks from fantasmic, to the front wishes and to the right illuminations. Granted they were the tops of the fireworks over the roof but the kids loved it anyway.

Thank you for the input, was worried maybe kids are too young to enjoy BWC. We have never been but we love Epcot and being able to walk was a huge plus for our family. We have a pool/garden view :confused3 It is a prefered view but I was just happy to get BWC a few month out. I'm a big fan of learning from others experiences :teacher:

Add us to the list. We have walked throught the lobby at Christmas, but not with the thought of buying. Location was what did it for us, wanted to be close to Epcot now that DDs are getting older. Just waiting for the "process" to be done as we bought resale.

Count us in - we bought at AKV before ever having visited. We saw it for the first time on our trip last week; so glad we did it! Congrats and welcome home :cool1:

We too bought sight unseen in 2005.

First trip was June 2006 and loved it!!! :woohoo:  :cloud9:

:earsgirl: :earsboy: :earsgirl: :earsgirl:

Next trip -- June 10-20, 2008. Can hardly wait. :hyper:
Boardwalk view this time! :yay: :cool2:

Call me crazy, but we just bought into BWV without ever having stayed there. Oh, we've been to Disney before... just haven't stayed at or even visted BWV. We DID do a lot of reading, including much good info here at the DISboards.

We're looking forward to our first trip down there early in '09 with our two boys, ages 9 & 8. Meanwhile, the anticipation is half the fun.

So, tell us what you like about the resort, what you don't like, what are your favorite rooms, best views, restaurants, activities, memorable events, fave time of the year, best pool area, or whatever else comes to mind!

Looking forward to hearing from our soon-to-be new neighbors!

Darlinboy & BTGirl

Welcome home neighbor! We also purchased BWV without visiting and are very thrilled with our purchase. Feel free to visit my trip report (link in my signature) for my run down of our first trip home. Your boys will LOVE the community center :goodvibes

I didn't realize we were in such good company. We also bought BW DVC site unseen. We had been to the Boardwalk one evening and ate at Big River Grille . . . . looked for Luna Park slide (I thought the pool slide was a roller coaster!:lmao: ) But we had never stayed at BW or stayed at any DVC property or done the DVC tour. We choose BW because we liked it's location and we wanted to maximize our points by using the standard view rooms at 11 mos. We've now added on once at BWV and once at SSR. We've stayed at all the DVC properties at WDW (with the exception of AKL) and we still love BW the best! I love returning from the parks to all the activity of the Boardwalk . . . even if we're not going to hang on the boardwalk I love walking through it! Congratulations . . . I hope your family loves it as much as ours does.

Since our favorite parks are Epcot and the Studios, you can't beat the location. Other than the BW, we've only stayed at OKW which was very pleasant and you can't beat the size of the 1 BRs, but we are really happy with our home resort.

Thanks TKSBaskets! And thanks for all those great trip pics!

You are most welcome :goodvibes it was a glorious trip. LOCATION, Location! Ten minute walk to my beloved Studios. Never did walk from EPCOT but liked the boat ride ;)

We are also waiting for the right BWV contract to come up so we can buy it. Never stayed there but did eat at Spoodles and walked around. BWV is the only place DH wants to own if he agreed to buy into DVC!!! Hopefully, it will be soon! Welcome Home.
