BWV Grand Villas - any changes?

The new Vacation Magic says that the renovation work in and around the BWV Grand Villas is complete and they are available for occupancy again. Has anyone stayed in them since the work was done? If so, what changes (if any) have you noticed? I know some folks on here had speculated that they might change the hardwood floors since they were so loud to walk on, for instance. Also, since the BCV's have DVD players instead of VCRs, did they change the GVs at BWV to DVD? (How many acronyms can you use in one sentence??) Inquiring minds want to know...

I hope that they just refurbish them, but don't change ANYTHING , they are beautiful just the way they are. ( DVD player would be O.K. though!)

I also would like to know about the newly renovated BWV GVs. We have never stayed in one, but would like to dream about it... Are BWV GVs as difficult to reserve as those at OKW? Our home resort is OKW. We added points at BWV in 1997, VWL in 2001, and BCV in 2002. We have enough points for our stay in a BWV GV, but would be limited by the 11 month/7 month home resort reservation policy. My question is, would it be better to try to reserve weekdays or weekend days at 11 months, and then be wait listed at 7 months for the other days? I frequently read on these boards that it is easier to reserve Friday and Saturday night stays than Sunday through Thursday stays at DVC resorts. Is this also true for BWV GVs? Any suggestions or insights anyone has would be greatly appreciated...in the meantime I continue to fantasize.

I don't know the usual availability, it may be different from OKW because the points are so high, maybe Ann can help us out.

At eleven months reserve the weekdays, especially the Thur and Sun nights, these are the nights that go first.

Weekends will probably be available, I am not positive, I have no experience renting them. I know that OKW weekends even in early December are available now....are we at seven months from then yet? (counting on his fingers....).....its just seven months now, the last time I know there was availability was about a month ago.

It can be very difficult to book a BWV GV. We booked ours at the 11 month window, it was not hard to do at that time. We have 11 days, two months ago we decided to add one more night, nothing is available, so we are on a waitlist for the extra night. I would recommend booking the Sun-Thurs at the 11 month window and adding the Weekend nights at the 7 month window.
I too am looking foward to the newly refurbished GV's. We are bringing extra family and friends, they all love coming to the GV and hanging out, so we expect to be "entertaining " some nights.

Thank you Richyams and AnnK. Both of you gave some good advice and I do plan to take advantage of it, reserving for sure the Thursday and Sunday nights. Duh, I should have realized everyone wants those nights. Both members staying for long weekends and those saving points by staying Sunday through Thursday nights want them. Thanks for pointing that out to me. Like you Rich, we have enjoyed staying in an OKW GV. Our older grandson said it was our very best vacation when we were all together. Ann, I hope they didn't change anything about the BWV GV just made then like new again...maybe someone will let us know all about them after their stay.
