BWV Grand Villa - Your experiences?

when in may are you going? DD and are are going may 1-10, and we (literally) always wind up in one of the studios alongside or 1 over from the GVs......:wave2:

The more I hear about the GVs, the more excited I get! We're going at the end of May... hopefully just before the summer heat really gets going. =)

We had 4047 last October and loved it. Great view. loved watching street performers at night looking over our balcony, and watching drunk guys and happy families try and win stuff at the carnival games, but room was very quiet.

The room is basically the size of six studios...three for bedrooms and three for the living area/kitchen.

The main open room (the size of three studios) has seating for 27! or maybe it was 29... THree at counter, 10 at Dining room table, four at card table, three two person couches, one three person couch, and three single seat chairs.

The laundry room was about as big as the living space at All-star Sports!

It is simply the best room I have ever stayed in, and I have stayed in the GV at OKW and SSR.

The balcony (Huge!) and the view (enitire lake, Spaceship earth!) and the location seal the deal for this room.

We stayed in both 2 story GV's at BWV in one trip because we couldn't get all the nts in a row in just one. Both 2 story gv's are on the 5 and 6th fls. You can only enter on the 5 th fl . The master BR does not have a private BR in either. You have to cross small hallway by dinning room to use BR. This didn't make sense to me for the pts. If someone uses the sleeper in the LR they share the MBath or go upstairs. But we still liked the GV. Not sure if the 1 floor GV has private MBR or not ,we never saw one.:cool1:

Thank for the description! For some reason, I thought the rooms ending in 47 didn't have one large balcony, but were a series of smaller balconies. Is this not the case? I had originally thought 4047 would be awesome because it's right there on the corner and you can see both toward the Village Green and the Boardwalk. But, I was under the impression that these corner units didn't have the longer balcony. From what you describe, it sounds like 3037, 4037, 3047, and 4047 all have the long balcony, right? I also heard that 3047 is HA... so we wouldn't want to request that one in case another party has a more serious situation than us. My parents both use scooters for health issues, and they should definitely avoid stairs, but they can get in and out of the bath/shower on their own.

Currently, my request reads, "Parents in scooters; request 1-story unit ending in 37." It looks like I should change that to "Parents in scooters; request 1-story unit ending in 37 or 47." Thoughts?

Just confirming...my room number was also 3037. If you get that GV you will hit the jackpot!

Thanks everybody for all the info! You have truly helped with our planning. :thumbsup2

Once I got to planning, we decided to expand the celebration and commemorate our daughter's graduation last August (as a surprise for her) as well. I've added some special events (dinner, Illuminations cruise, etc.) for our trip. I'm wondering now... what special touches can be ordered for the villa ahead of time? Is there a place I could call to have the living room decorated with a graduation banner and cake for our arrival? Or perhaps something else special that BWV offers?

We just got back from WDW last week and stayed in 3037. In my opinion it the best GV at BWV.

It's in the building under the Boardwalk sign on the 3rd floor and has continuous balcony that's over 100' long. One strange thing is the master bedroom balcony on one side of the GV and the last bedroom on the other side of the GV have separators from the main balcony. Don't know why.

The rooms ending in 47 are at the corner of the building and have separate balconies. 3047 is a handicap GV

4037 has the same length balcony but it is not was deep as 3037. The two story GV's are side by side above 4037.

I can't tell you how much we loved staying there. We're still depressed that we had to leave.

The only problem now is that we've set the bar REALLY high!!!

Your comment about setting the bar really high sounds like something we will experience after the May trip. In addition to staying in the Grand Villa, I've also arranged for a family dinner in the Queen Victoria room at Victoria & Albert's for one night and an Illuminations Cruise with champagne, cake, and other goodies for another night. We're going to leave feeling verrrrrrry spoiled!!! But as this is our youngest graduating college, and my parents are finding it increasingly difficult to travel, I think this just might be our last full family trip for quite a while. I want to make sure it's really special!
