There is no difference in points. A pool/garden and a boardwalk view are the same points. If they moved you to a standard view then there would be a difference in points.

As I stated earlier in the thread, I am well aware that there is no difference in points between boardwalk view and pool/garden view (although IMO, there should be).

However it is possible to book a "guaranteed" boardwalk view, which means DVC is aware the two accomodations are not substantially similar.

Members have to plan 7-11 months in advance in order to "guarantee" views, but the resorts can decide 4 months (or less) ahead of time to yank them out of commission over 4th of July weekend.

Will I be surprised and upset if I don't receive any points back? No. But I sent a polite request anyway to be refunded the difference in points between boardwalk view and standard view, yes even though I am (supposedly) now going to be in garden/pool view, as I think it is the right thing to do.

Got a call from member satisfaction today. Very sorry, it's not right, etc. etc. No points back (and I was not surprised).

Now over at the Resorts board, CBR "pirate room" guests this month are being called to choose a complimentary upgrade to BC, YC, or BWI
