BWV fans - NOW I get it! (long)

Tears in the eyes here too. I just loved the "That's Mickey and his Dad," part where the teen "got it." Not everyone does . . . what a shame!

Thanks for sharing!

:smooth: :smooth: :smooth: - Ditto !! Can't wait for my next trip 'home' !!! So glad you had such a magical trip !!

I can't decide if I should ask for the 2nd floor to not have to deal with the elevator, or the 5th floor in hopes of a better view. What would you suggest? Thanks!

In January we were on the 5th floor - FABULOUS view!! We could see parts of Illuminations and Wishes from our balcony - loved not having anyone 'above' us - and we were far enough away from any noise on the boardwalk that we were never disturbed by it , even with the doors open (well, except for one very loud group - but at least they were just 'laughing' loudly)!:smooth:

loved your post, you trully know what disney is about. Made me teary eyed!!

Thanks for your wonderful post! Let me wipe away my tears...

We love the BWV too! We love bringing friends and family with us to WDW - it makes it so new and exciting for us when they are seeing it for the first time.

Dreamfinder, the "magic" still exists because you knew where to look to find it, sadly many do not.

Glad your stay was "magical" I have a feeling you contributed alot to that.

Ummmmm......Jean................I see retirement is suiting you both just fine.

Don't think there could there have been a better way to launch a new life than a WDW trip! ;)
DH has been retired for 9 years, so, as you can see from the photo, he has this lifestyle pretty much perfected. :teeth:

Wow, sounds great! Makes me want to splurge on a Boardwalk View room!

Fabulous report!! So glad you enjoyed BWV! It is also wonderful you were able to travel with other people who found the magic also.

Thanks for the very nice post. I can't think of a much better gift than showing some young person that it's "cool" to be swept away emotionally by a great experience!

Thanks for sharing your impressions. :)

I've been "getting it" since I was 7. My DH merely tolerates WDW. Here's hoping our first trip to our BWV home has the same effect on him as it did your guests.

Thanks for the great report! I have to admit that after reading all the negative threads, I found myself looking around our BCV room last week with a much more critical eye than I would normally have. For the record, there was a stain on the couch cushion that I never would have noticed if I hadn't been on the hunt. But, hey, it's a hotel room. These things happen.

This was our first trip home to the BC/BW area, and we, too, were blown away by the magic. Thanks for describing it so eloquently!:cloud9:

There's no way we could've treated our friends to this experience without DVC. While our family has been to Disney scores of times - I think we're in the triple digits - to be able to share this made it fresh for us all over again. I can still see one of the girls, who at 15 was having her first Disney experience, and her eyes sparkled as she took it all in. She was just radiant. When we were in the Magic Kingdom, I pointed out the "Partners" statue of Walt and Mickey. I told her what a little boy had said, when his mother asked him if he knew who that was. "That's Mickey Mouse and his daddy," he had said, and upon hearing that, tears welled up in her eyes. She "got it."

Beautiful. That gave me a tear in the ole' eye. Thanks for sharing!

Thanks for the terrific upbeat report! That's the feeling we should always get on any DVC trip. :)

Thanks Dreamfinder2, for sharing your experiences. I'm sitting here at work in tears...with a smile on my face! ::yes::

Can't wait for our trip in October!

No more new member jitters-I was questioning my splurge on our new BWV points---Can't wait to go there myself!

Sarah

Thanks so much for your post. I just hope no one comes in my office for a few minutes..... I 'got it' too. My DW is a believer as well, and a constant source of pixie dust for me and everyone she meets.

BWV is our home resort as well, and we are really looking forward to our first Food & Wine this October.

Now, where did I put those kleenexes?

CADreaming, just for the heck of it, I walked all the way to the end of the hallway on our floor from the elevators and back again, which was a good way to limber up in the cool before attacking the parks.

If you look at the villas side of BW from the lake, the tallest "building" is the one with "The Boardwalk" in lights at its peak. Right above the Boardwalk shops you'll see three large arches. Our balcony was the arch on the right. The balcony was so big you could've had a square dance on it. Not only was it long, it was deep - I'm guessing a good 12'.

We just lucked into that one. The view was just fine, and we were never bothered by any noise. We were so zapped at the end of each day I could've slept well in the parking lot, on the pavement with no pillow.

That balcony sounds awesome! I'm sure it would be wonderful to have so much space! Thanks! ;)

Thanks for the great report!!

It made great lunch time reading - oops!

It truly is what it is all about!
