BWV extra adult charge

I posted this over in resorts, and they suggested I post here. So, here goes.

I am NOT a DVC member/owner, but have reserved (and paid for) a 2 BR BWV for 3 nights. There will be 3 adults, 1 child (junior) I was told by the person taking the reservation that there would be a $25/night surcharge for the extra adult. My original question concerned paying for another friend who wanted to spend one night there, and mentioning that one of the original adults will have to leave early, so will not be staying the 3rd night (which I've already paid the $25 on) I asked if I should pay for the extra person, and then have them credit back the fee, or just forget about it and not say anything, since the total amount I pay will be the same.

They then told me that they didn't think there was ANY extra adult fee at any DVC, and as long as I didn't exceed maximum capacity, I could have as many as 8 adults in the villa. I just wanted to know if this applies to non-DVC guests, also?

I know DVC owners can have more than 2 adults in a hotel room if they are using DVC points, and don't exceed capacity. I didn't know whether "regular" hotel rules applied to me, and if they did, was the person on the phone incorrect. Even if they did apply, should a 2BR villa be treated as 2 hotel rooms, which means I should be allowed 4 adults, or as 1 room, as this person seems to have done?

The 2BR is designed to hold 8 and that includes up to that many adults. There is no extra for anyone among that 8 total. The info you recieved initially was wrong.

Though usually right, I don't think drusba is correct on this one. According to the cash rates I just looked up, there is an extra adult charge in the studios after two adults. I believe that, on cash reservations, there is an extra adult charge after you exceed two adults per bedroom. My word is not bible by any means, but that's what it appears from the rates that I have from the brochures for various types of parties at BWV.

Dsruba is correct. The 2 bedroom villas are exempt from the extra adult surcharge. You can have 8 adults if you'd like.

I suggest you call CRO (I just did to confirm that this was correct), and get it straightened out now. Why waste your time at check-in?

Just a thought ... you might want to be sure each adult's name is on your reservation. That way if someone checks in before you, they will be able to get into a room.
