booked an 8 night trip at bwv in a one bedroom(not a dvc member-yet...).
looking for any advice/tips/secrets?
where can i refill my mug? any little known things about the boardwalk??
soooo excited........ :cool1:

thanks all-

You can refill your mug at the bakery or the pool bar. But why buy a mug? You'll have a full size refrigerator, it would be cheaper to buy a liter of pop/soda even at the inflated Screen Door price. There's a coffeemaker in the room. There's a Hess station across the street that sells convenience store items at a good price.

You'll love it! But beware...you'll never want to go back to a regular hotel room!

You will love the BW! We first stayed there the week after the resort opened, and we were yet to be DVC members. The biggest draw to me is LOCATION, Location, location (hey I'm a Realtor!) I love being able to walk to MGM & Epcot (yes it is quicker to walk than to take the boat). The BW itself is a fun place to hang out, especially in the evenings when the entertainers are out. We also love the close proximity to the Y&BC which is actually our first love! You will love staying there!

You don't mention if you are taking kids but if you are Community Hall, (next to the quiet pool) has free games to play. There's pingpong, foosball and air hockey, as well as some video games, all at no charge. You can also "rent" DVD's and VHS's for free at community hall, and there are listings there of special events for kids (games at the pool (again no charge) and crafts projects--which may involve a small fee).

At night the Boardwalk has strolling musicians, jugglers, etc. There is no schedule that I know of, but there's almost always something going on after 9PM.

If you're driving in or taking a towncar I suggest stopping at Publix or some other grocery to shop. It's way cheaper than buying at WDW. There's also a very reasonable grocery delivery to the room via WeGoShop, we sing their praises here all the time, here's a link to their website if you're interested. http://www.wegoshop.com/orderforms/wgs-orderform15-2.htm

I agree with Debbie B--I rented points May 2004 and got hooked. Bought my BWV resale within 2 months of returning. :sunny:
