Just booked a BWV standard 2 bed lock off for next July.
We are not bothered about being close to lobby- we like it quiet more than anything.
At the moment my request is top floor, then upper floor.
Any ideas if I should cancel that and request something else? What requests are most likely to be honoured?

Cheers.

My request for standard view is top floor, across from the bus stop. That puts you about halfway down the hall and far enough away from lobby noise. There are also steps at the corner of the building, quick way to the parking lot or bus stop.

I like to request a tennis court view. It's as far away from the elevator as you can get but quiet. You'll see some parking lot too but it's mostly blocked by trees. It's at the end closest to DHS so you can just use the stairs to exit the building and walk to the park.

My experience is that BWV is lousy at meeting requests. If we request high floor, we are in the middle. If we want low floor, we are in the middle. If we want close to the lobby, we are in the middle, if we want down by the tennis courts we are in the middle. Fifteen years of ownership (almost always staying at BWV) and we got a request met ONCE.

I'd guess the request most likely to get met is "somewhere in the middle." :)

Stairs are plentiful at BWV, but five flights of stairs can be a lot if you aren't in good shape.

Ha ha, cheers guys. We are fit, we don't mind walking, we would prefer quiet. Worst case for me is overlooking the entrance.
So I've hedged. I've asked for 'upper' (not top as upper has a bit more to play with) and ' overlooking bus stop or tennis courts'.
I'll just keep my fingers crossed from hereon in. Middle I'd be happy with!

I always ask for what I DON'T want, I usually end up close to what I really wanted. Go figure! That is for BWV, at the other I ask for and most times get what I want. BWV is always the poorest at meeting requests.

What we've learned (although we seldom stay standard) is that when we end up low, we discover its really convenient to get to the pool or the Boardwalk, when we end up high, we enjoy the view, and when we end up in the middle, we enjoy the compromise of having a little of each....I actually like the middle - it is fewer flights of stairs - which even in good shape can be challenging after a long day - without being on the ground floor.

(I sort of regret the emphasis on high floor without the caveat that the stairs are in play - high floor with a stroller or ECV would create a dependency on the small elevators that can be a long way down the hall).

I used Touring Plans fax service for my recent stay. I requested 4029, got 3029. Pretty good!

Have you used the TP service as well as putting in the request via MS?

I used online checkin and requested top floor. I have had some success at Grand California requesting a list of 5 room numbers (rooms facing the park).
