I have just a few questions about BWV. Hubby & I are going to Disney in August to celebrate my college graduation, my 30th birthday, and out 10 year anniversary.

We made our reservations and have BWV Studio for our stay. My questions is, we let Member Services know that it is our 10 year anniversary and they made a note on our reservation. The only request that we made was Non smoking, high floor. What do you think are the chances of getting our request???

Also, has anyone had anything special happen to them at check in with a special note on their account?? We will be at BWV from August 7 - 14; then we are transferring over to our other timeshare and will be staying 3 days at Bonnett Creek (I know, it's not DVC; but you take what you can get) and I will be celebrating my 30th birthday while we are Bonnett Creek.

Thanks so much in advance!!!:wave2: :chat:

Hi,

Happy Anniversary early!!!! I can help with the 1st ? I am fairly sure that you will get a non smoking room. Not sure about the higher floor. Good luck!

I don't think that you will get the upper floor you requested because it is your 10th anniversary if that's what you are asking. You will get it if it's available and they can fit it in. With that kind of request it seems to all comes down to the occupancy of the hotel. You stand as much chance as anyone else who requested the view(and many that didn't for that matter).

Happy anniversary/birthday and most of all congratulations on the college degree.

We are leading parallel lives!

Our 14th anniversary is Aug 11th; we will be enjoying it in a 2br std view at BWV from the 8th to the 16th along with family (BIL/SIL and their 2 boys). So if you see a noisy throng of 8 plus an infant at Luna Park -- it's us! We'll also stay one night (7th) at BCV, and then 4 more days over at SSR. I CAN'T WAIT!

As for your requests -- NS is a big deal to us; we have "for medical reasons" on our request (2 kids in party with resp allergies / issues). We too asked for upper level. I figure we'll expect nothing, and enjoy everything! :)

I have only made three visits since becoming a DVC member....but I can tell you that as long as you request it they will at least try. At all the resorts I've been to (VWL, BWV, BCV) we got everything we requested and never had a problem. I think it is luck of the draw!

I can't halp you out with the special things for the 10th Anniversary....but enjoy!

My advice about receiving special things for your anniversary: If you want them, pay for them. We've had several "pixie dust" moments over the years on various trips to WDW. I don't describe them specifically on these boards though, because I think when people hear about them, they come to "expect" them, and feel they were somehow cheated if they don't get the same extra bits of magic.

If you were to take a poll of the number of people who are celebrating a special event during a trip to WDW, the numbers would be huge. I would think that it would be impossible to give extra goodies to all of those people without raising prices... and then of course, you'd need to add in all of the people who "create" events so that they can get extra attention. Has anyone else seen families who happen to have four kids with birthdays in the same week???? (hey - and this is coming from someone whose dad, brother and sister have birthdays within 4 days of each other!)

To me, it's kind of like the tag fairies. I only want a tag if it comes as a surprise. :D So, note it on your reservation, buy what you want for goodies, and be surprised if you get something extra!!

BTW - Congratulations on the birthday, anniversary and graduation!

First of all - thanks for everyones response

Second - the only reason why we had the anniversary placed on the reservation is because I was speaking the the CM and was asked if we were celebrating anything specail during our trip. I joked and saiI d we had serveral things that were being celebrated and that this was the trip to catch them all at once. That being said, it was offered to place on the reservation and that was the end of the story.

I thought by having it placed on the the reservation, that we might get an additional "happy anniversary" to go along with the "welcome home".

Last year we had pixie dust that we didn't even expect at OKW. I went in to get a list of what our room charges were so far, and my two 10 yr. old niece were with me and wearing their "today's my birthday button" and they got a great big Happy Birthday sung to them from everyone there, which just made their day (we had already had breakfast at CRT that morning and had come back to relax). We left to head back out to the parks and that night when we got back to our villa, there were balloons and a pictures saying Happy Birthday that was signed by Chip and Dale to the girls.

I was sooooooooooo happy for them! We had ordered a Birthday cake for the girls at 50's Prime Time for there supper, so this was the "icing" for the day. The girls were so excited and couldn't believe that Chip & Dale remembered that it was their birthday (they told them the day before at Chef Mickey's).

I am sorry if I rubbed people the wrong way on this, and I know if we wanted an upgrade on the room, we would a) pay for it or b) book the Boardwalk view. Thanks again for everyone's response and again, I am sorry if I stirred up a hornet's nest on this issue.
