We are debating on which resort to stay at in December. We have stayed at OKW. This time we thought we would try BWV. We were thinking about getting a boardwalk view. Has anyone ever put in for a boardwalk view which turned out to be anything but. There seems to be a lot of debate on some of the rooms that are suppose to be preferred VS standard. I am just wondering if that has every happened with a boardwalk view.

We would have to wait until the 7 month window to book this. What are our chances of getting a studio with a boardwalk view in the first two weeks of December?

I had a room last month that was a little "iffy". I had thought all the boardwalk view rooms had the boardwalk directly below and the rooms on the side facing the village green were preferred garden. We could see the boardwalk clearly, but we were not above it, we were above the walkway on the village green side (5051). I was disappointed at first but grew to like it. Especially since it was close to the elevators and away from the construction on the Jellyrolls end.

BWV is usually soldout the first half of December, but you can waitlist if you don't get it at seven months.

Given the photo, that villa looks it had an excellent view of Illuminations.

Slim.

First two weeks of December - most popular DVC season.

Studio - most popular room type

BWView - second most popular guarentee type at BW (I think standard view is still more popular).

I'm sure people have. I wouldn't count your chickens until the room reservation is made.

Just my $.02 for all they are worth :rotfl: While we truly loved the view from our Boardwalk view (a one bedroom directly above the old DVC sales office) we truly hated the noise! If it wasn't the boat horns it was the late nighters coming out of JellyRolls and Atlantic Dance Hall. It's a toss up...more points for a great view with lots of noise (especially if you are a light sleeper) or less points for a not so bad view and much quieter!

Either way...your in Disney, how bad can life be!!

I called MS yesterday to see if I could switch over to BWV from BCV the 12-1 to 12-8 and was told they are entirely sold out. Good Luck!

I would love that BW view that DebbieB just posted! And it would have a perfect view of Illuminations as well as be far enough away from the clubs that some think are too noisy.

Although some have reserved the BW view and been disappointed that it wasn't ON the BW per se (there is still a view, which is what the description says after all) many of the BW view rooms do overlook the village green.

You will not, however get a standard view or pool view if you reserve a BW View, as those are entirely different.

If you call right at 7 months and get on the waitlist if there are no rooms, then you may have a decent chance of getting the BW View. You just may have to be patient!

And increase your chances of not being on the green, request a room far down the hall and try to check in early. We have been there before and did not find the noise objectionable at all. We found it far worse to be in the middle of the hotel overlooking the main pool!

I would try it if I were you! Good luck.

The original post goes all the way back to January.

wisbucky - did you get it at 7 months (calling in May)?

DebbieB I did call at 7 months out and was told that all the one bedrooms at BWV were gone. So we booked at OKW and are currently waitlisted. So far no luck. :sad2:

I do not know the specific room number. We were, I believe, victims of the late night check in left over rooms that you read about here.

We checked in at 2 AM. The preferred view was down near the end (long walk at 2AM) and bottom floor view of little mucky pond in front of the road.

I am sure several people who were assigned this room that day said no thanks once they saw it. I never imagined I would check in someplace else if I was arriving late since it is such a hassle to move the next day, but that preferred view might make me consider it.

The room ready obviously works against those arriving late and gives advantage to those arriving early.
