Hope this is where this belongs, see a few other trip reports.

Nov 16-21, rescheduled from Hurricanes. DW and i checked into BWV 1bdr late, room 5091, had a nice view of quiet pool and TOT. While looking around i noticed a washcloth in the sink, looking closer i noticed it was a little dirty and there were whiskers on the shelf probably from an electric razor parked there. The toilet had the enamel scraped off the bottom and made it look dirty, DSis who joined us later commented on this. Last the door jams and doors were scratched and chipped. The good news i didn't care cuz i was in Disney, and hey it WAS like i was home :hyper: Minor issues at best. Location was nice and we enjoyed the boardwalk at night.

Checked Parents into BCV studio, room 225. Didn't realize until much later that this was an HC room, but i did ask to be near the elevators. The room was spotless and in nice shape. The iron didn't seem to work for them and a call to desk and a brand new one in a box was delivered in minutes. Nice and quiet for them with a woods view, and easy walking distance to Epcot.

First trip off peak, wow could walk on anything and the weather was perfect. :wave2:

Hi,

Thanks for sharing!!!!

Allison

Thanks for the report! I've seen a few posts regarding HC rooms. Never thought about asking for it to be non HC. I asked to be near the main elevator as well so we're closer to the lobby.

Can't wait for February...

Thank you for posting this. I have often wondered how we will ever cope if we are given a HC room---this makes me feel better :)

A bit off the topic, sorry, but what is the deal with the Handicapped room at BCV, why is/isn't it desirable?

I didn't spend much time in the studio so someone correct me. Their biggest complaint was a lack of counter in the bathroom. It was a bathtub/shower with a free standing sink, so they made lots of room for a wheelchair but took most everything else out.

I think the armoire and bed seemed different too. So i think they change things or pull things out to make more room. Other than being close to elevators i would not want this type of room but could live with it.

My father did complain, before we realized, and they were very nice and did offer to move them. But being typical old school he just wanted them to know he didn't like the set up but was willing to put up with it and not be trouble for anyone  I had read the advice was to ask not to have one at check-in otherwise they may charge you to move if you go to the room and find out.

A dirty washcloth with whiskers sounds yucky to me, and you just overlooked it. Good for you, I guess. I'm not sure I could overlook it. DH probably could. Was it one of your given number of washcloths?

No it wasn't one of the alloted, it looked more like they were cleaning and got distracted and never went back, being in the bottom was hidden from the door so they missed it.

Yes i'm a guy, so i didn't tell DW took a minute cleaned up threw the washcloth in the corner and went on with my trip! DW " gee the place looks good huh?" , me: "yeah it does!" :p

otherwise i think i would have heard about it all week and/or had to stop at the front desk and/or move all our luggage moving to a new room. That was a very easy choice! :D

DaveT1, yes, I can see it happening like that. Thanks for the laugh, and you know, I think I'm going to try to be just a little like that!
