Do all the Boardwalk View villas have a balcony? Are they separated from your neighbor or is it one long veranda?

Thanks

There are actually two different kinds of balconies There are rooms with the short rail balconies and each room has its own and the one for the one bedroom portion of the lock off runs almost the length of the 1BR.

There are then wood-type covered porches which are actually much wider but have a solid wall in front of you so that if you are sitting, it is not easy to see over it and down below to the boardwalk, Your room is also walled off to the right and left and there is a wall between the 1BR and studio for a 2BR lock-off

We're staying in a studio, so I assume we'll have a separate space?

Thanks again.

But if you really are balcony people, OKW is really the only place that has a nice, usable balcony.

Not only a Cub fan, but a very smart Cub fan!! OKW has the best of all. We don't even call them balconies because they are really large porches.

I guess one could question how smart I really am after being a Cubs fan all of these years, but that's another topic for another blog. ha! (give us another two or three years, though ... maybe we'll be smarter by then)

Here is a photo of the boardwalk side of the BWV showing the different types of balconies. The enclosed wooden balconies where you have to stand up to see the boardwalk are to the left in the photo, partially obscured by those four large hanging signs. There are also some 1BRs where there is a balcony off the living area but not off the bedroom. I think they are on the 4th floor in the middle of the photo. The balconies are in that partially enclosed section in the rightmost of the two red sections of BWV if I'm remembering correctly.

Deb, Deb, Deb... Porches and patios are ground level. :) Might I suggest Balconette.

Rob, that would be a tiny balcony. Like the standing balconies they have at the YC and BC. Which ARE actually balconies.

Maybe we should call it a loggia. Or a verandah. Or a terrace (but that would leave out the ones on the first floor).

But I did like your porch/verandah/whatever at HHI.

;) going to have to correct you, Beach Club has the Juliet balconies, standing only, Yacht Club does not. They have full size, really nice balconies.

I agree, HHI balconies are fantastic. Rocking chairs and picnic tables :thumbsup2

That is a great view you had.

I agree with both of you. Those are really nice balconies at HHI, too ... we've stayed there a couple of times, too. What they really need to do, though, is add ceiling fans like they have at OKW, unless they've added them since the last time we were there. It can be miserably hot and muggy there on summer evenings, and a fan would at least help move the air around.

Good to know. I thought they were all the tiny ones.

If you are a balcony person - as am I - the best on the grounds IMHO is BWV, upper floors, Boardwalk view. There seems to always be something going on down on the Boardwalk, so whether you are out eating breakfast or having an evening glass of wine, it's just a fun place to be. Plus, at night you get to see fireworks off in the distance!
