Just wondering everyones opinion on whether or not the BWV will sell out before the end of the month.
TIA

I don't think all the points will be gone by June 1, although some use years may sell out. Are you waiting for the points to become available to the public?

We did the DVC tour and our guide told us that all of the Boardwalk was sold out. Our home resort would have been the Beach Club.

maciec: When did you do the tour? DVC just put on sale points at the BWV's that were freed up when they decided to move their sales offices to the new SSR. I just bought an add on a week ago.

I agree with JOC. Some use years will make it, some won't but they will go quickly after June 1.

I don't know. I love the Epcot area and figured we would buy BC, but if BWV is available we would consider it. We will be purchasing soon and plan on going through Disney (for the ease of financing--our house is only 2 years old, so we do not have a lot of equity so a home equity loan is not for us). I know if BWV go "public" we will need to get them quickly, just trying to plan a head.

maciec,
Technically your guide was right in that the BWV are currently sold out; those points that opened up at BWV are only being sold to current DVC members right now. If you wait until June 1 all remaining BWV points will be made available to the general public so you might be able to purchase BWV then.

Now that I am looking back at the original post we may be talking about different things. We did our tour with Humberto at the BWV's this past Sunday 5/11. He told us that they were all sold out there and that right now that our only choice for a home resort was at the BC. We decided against buying into the DVC because we only go every other year. Actually, believe it or not Humberto told us that he didn't think we would fit in. ???????????? Based on the 4 entry questions he asked us. How long to you stay, how many people do you come with, where do you usually stay, and when/how often do you come. He really didn't want to hear anything else we had to say after we answered those questions (and not to his liking might I add). It's like he was only interested in us if we told him that we came twice a year and stayed at a Deluxe for a full week everytime. I was pretty diappointed in our talk with him. We felt like we were dealing with a used car salesman.

We were pretty shocked ourselves. Maybe he was just looking for a big sale.

maciec,

DVC is not for everyone; it's more cost-effective if you would normally go to WDW at least every other year (which you said you would do) and if you would normally stay at a deluxe or moderate resort.

Maybe Humberto was looking out for your best interests based on your vacation patterns? Still, that wouldn't excuse his rudeness (if he was rude to you).

When I first called DVC last June the guide who was assigned to us also asked us some questions, and based upon my answers it didn't sound like she was too thrilled either. We didn't purchase then; we ended up buying a resale in February after taking a trip to the Boardwalk area in December. We also have a new guide (she was the guide assigned to the original owner of our resale contract) and she has been very pleasant to deal with.

If you're still interested in DVC, call them up and ask for another guide. Also ask them for the information packet (video and a booklet, if you don't already have them). Read over some old threads on this forum for more information and ask questions if you have them. There are a lot of DVC members on this board who would be more than happy to help you out!

He wasn't rude, just not what we expected as far as a salesman is concerned. I expected that they would do everything to make us want to buy and he really did nothing except discourage us.

We decided that it would be better for us to just put $25 a paycheck into a special savings account to save up for our next trip. DH is a penny pincher and he just couldn't shell out $20k for a prepaid vacation club when we don't own it after we have paid out all of that money. Buying a car would be a better investment even though they depreciate.

The one good thing about taking the tour was that DH finally got to see how nice it would be to stay at the Boardwalk. I am pretty sure that next time we will finally be staying at a Deluxe!
