BWV Availability Question

Need advice please.....going to F & W for 4 nights in October..only have 45 points left for 2011 and will need a "value or standard view " studio. Really want to stay at BWV in a standard view studio ( 40 points!) but am really worried I won't be able to secure one at the 7 month window! My other option is AKV.... the value or standard view studio would get me in between 36 and 48 points, but BWV location is so perfect for F & W!
Our dates are not flexible at all, unfortunately! Going 10/3 - 10/7
Do I have a chance of getting a standard view BWV studio during F & W at the 7 month window? ( We own at BCV but there's no lower point option there like at BWV! Don't want to borrow points if I don't have to)
Any opinions or advice would be really appreciated! Thanks!

Booking at BWV at 7 months will be a challenge.

Maybe I'll book at BCV now and borrow the extra points from next year......

I would say the obvious thing working against you is that it is F&W. We own at BWV and AKV. We recently booked a standard view at BW at 7 months for February. In fact, we did not even call right at the 7 month window. It was probably more like 6 months. However, it was for February, and I think that may have been part of the help. There's always a chance! Nothing a little pixie dust can't do . But logically, as the PP said, this may be a challenge.

I just got off the phone with member services....booked at my home resort, BCV, and got my studio for F& W...had to borrow 15 points from next year, but am happy I did it...I don't think I would have gotten the standard view studio at BWV during F & W! You can still WL the BWV standard at 7 months. Depending on your banking window, if it comes through more than 31 days prior to your trip, you can bank the 15 extra current year points into next year. So next year will have the same number of points as if you nevered borrowed, but some of them will be banked points that need to be used before the end of that UY. Best of luck -- Suzanne

I think you did the right thing. I booked BWV standard for Oct. 16-29 at the 11 month window and was nervous I wasn't going to get it. Actually during a few calls (since it's more than 7 nights) I was told there was only a couple left and that was at the 11 month window. I need to book a room for my DD at the 7 month window for part of this time frame (second week) and am nervous I won't be able to get preferred view because I'm pretty sure I won't get standard view.

I think you did the right thing. Last year, we couldn't book anything (not just hard to get standard) at 6.5 months during F & W

I feel much better after hearing your replies..borrowing 15 points from next years allotment isn't the end of the world and it now seems like it was truly the right thing to do...definitely worth the piece of mind! Thanks so much for steering me in the right direction!

I was able to book a standard room at BoardWalk Villas at 7 months out for August. I had no problem. It was for two nights only (and then we move on to our home resort). I am new to the DVC, and never even realized I might have had a problem!! I guess I got lucky!!

August is different from October and two nights are different from a longer stay.

FWIW, we got a 1BR standard at BWV in October (yes F & W Festival!) when I called at 9:00 am on the 7th month mark. However, 1BR at BCV was already booked up! Definately have a back up plan (studio at OKW is a lower per night cost also) if you can't get it and you're locked into specific dates.

I could not get 2 standard studios or a 2BR for this October at the 10 month mark. The WL for the 2BR came through today. I am psyched since I didn't think it would. I checked the member website and realized I had fewer points than I should have. That is when I checked my upcoming vacations and there it was! A great big thank you to whoever canceled!
