We are going to BWV for our first trip home next Feb. for the whole week before President's day (checking out that Sunday before the President's day Monday). I booked the BWV for the entire stay.

However, after reading more and more about AKL, I would really like to try to get a room at AKL for the last 2 nights, Friday and Sat. I believe the Friday is the Valentine's day.

Do you think I can get a good AP rate at AKL? It costs too many points for those 2 nights and I would not consider using the points to stay there.

Thanks

I did exactly the same thing on my ressie last summer, staying at AKL for Fri and Sat night on an AP rate of $127 per night. Once I decided to add Sun and Mon, the $127 rate was gone, but I got a pool side room for the AP rate of $167 per night, and it was terrific! You will need to call the AP line (I think it's 407-560-PASS) to ask if that rate will still be in effect in Feb. I never use my pts on the weekend, it just bothers me to pay so many pts for a room. Besides, that way I can almost get another trip out of my pts! ;)

I have also done the same thing and stayed at BWV for a week and then checked out for the last 3 nights and had a savannah view room at AKL. AKL is a great resort if you want to just relax and hang out at the resort, it is very laid back and quiet and there is so much to see and they have interesting things going on at night with the stories around the fire pit, resort tours etc. It was a very relaxing way to end our vacation.
