We are planning a 10 day trip in September 2016 and wanted to get experienced opinions on if bw normally is booked by the 7 month period for september 7-17. Looking to get a 2br standard view and a studio standard view.

I'll keep my fingers crossed and wait list if it's not open. Can you wait list 11 months out lol

Yes, you can, but getting two villas for ten nights will be extremely difficult with waitlisting. Like next to impossible. Plus you only have two waitlist categories that you can get with one membership. Unless you have multiple.

You can't if it isn't your home resort, which it isn't

shpdem,

Here is what you have going for and against you.

1. Standard Views are very popular with owners, and often book up before the seven month window opens
2. But you are going pre-F&W in September, which makes it possible something is open
3. However, studios and two bedrooms book first (its more likely that a few one bedrooms would be open)
4. You need TEN nights, any one night in there booked up by BWV owners will create an issue.
5. You need TWO villas, increasing your chances one won't be available.
6. Renters have figured out that the BWV Standard views are a bargain. As a BWV owner, its really easy for me to rent my points for a Standard View room before the seven month window opens, making those rooms even harder to get at seven months for DVC members who aren't BWV owners.

We were there that timeframe this year. We had to book at the 11 month window for the standard studio. We were hoping to book at the 7 month window using non home points. We were glad we booked at the 11 month window because those days were not open at the 7 month window. We were only there 4 nights. I agree that the standard studios go first and since you need a standard studio to book the 2 bedroom. (All 2 bedrooms are lock offs). This is why there are often 1 bedroom standards left over at the 7 month window. Please have a backup plan. I don't think your chances are very good considering you are wanting 10 nights.

Try a split stay between BWV and AKV. You might find that there is more standard availability at AKV at Jambo or Kidani to accommodate your requests. I tried a split stay when I had holding points to use at 2 months and really liked it and it wasn't difficult to do when you stay for 10 days. You might plan a pool day for the day of the switch.

Luckily we have several options if the 10 days don't work out at one resort. Was trying to bring some family with us which is why I'm looking for what i'm looking for. But they know it may not work out that way.
