BWV 2-bedroom standard room availability

I'm considering buying BWV points to have it has home resort for booking standard rooms, sometimes studios but 2-BR especially. How hard are they to get if you can book at 11 months? Is it difficult only in the fall or at all times of the year? Thanks!

Because BWV is entirely composed of lock-offs, 2 bedrooms are as difficult to get as studios. If all the studios are booked, there are no 2 bedrooms to book.

That said, my only experience at booking BWV was a positive one. For President's day weekend, at the 7 month window, I booked a garden view and waitlisted both Boardwalk View and Standard View. The Standard View waitlist came through after about a month. My sense is that as long as you avoid the super heavy times (e.g., Fall/Early December/Marathon), you should have little trouble obtaining at the 11 month window.

We have booked 2BR villas at BWV Standard View several times at high demand times of the year (eg. early December, Christmas week, October F&W Festival). If you book online first thing in the morning of the 11 month mark you will most likely have no problem even at the busiest times of the year.

Why take a chance? I would buy enough points to book the room category that has the most rooms. That goes for all resorts.

This being true for most people, it's also a good idea to buy enough points to cover the cost of a BW or G/P view in case you cannot book the std. view right at 11 months. There's another thread authored by a member who could not get a std. view villa in December right at 8 AM on the first day of their 11-month window.

OP, don't count on getting the std. view. Assume that you won't and buy enough points to book the other views. If you snag a std. view, then yay for you! But keep in mind that you are competing with me and all the other BWV owners who also want to save on points and get one of those studios or 2-BR villas.

I think your points are well taken. I was just relaying my experience with booking BWV SV 2BR at high demand times of the year. But with the potential growth of the "reservation walking" strategy, I can see where it can be getting tougher to book than I experienced.

I also have not gotten my standard studio at the 11 month window at 8:00am in the past during October. I did get it the next day, but had to waitlist fir the missing first day that I finally got. I find it stressful booking Bwv or BLT standard rooms at the 11 month window. You have to be fast!

When we plan for standard, we always have the backup plan of preferred. That may mean borrowing points so that the next trip is one night shorter.
