We are staying at the Boardwalk Inn Villas in August. We have requested a first floor room as we will have some little ones with us and it will make the mothers feel safer if we are on a ground floor. What do you get on the first floor, is it a patio, balcony, are you able to enter and exit your room for the day of fun and sun from this egress? :confused3

If you request the ground floor, you will have a patio.
Yes, you will be able to leave your room for the pool etc...
However, there is no way to lock the patio door which will be a problem unless someone else in your party is staying behind in the room.

We love the first floor at the BWV, especially on the front entrance side. We have been visited by ducks several times a day when staying in a first floor room on that side. It's also very quiet--quieter than on the pool side.

We had a first floor room on our last trip on the driveway side of BWV. It was very quiet (which was exactly what we were looking for) , we loved sitting on the little patio. We had a funny experience with a frog though. We were watching it hopping around in front of us, it had even stuck to the side of a column, when it suddenly jumped onto DS's leg! It happened so fast, and gave us a good laugh! There were also bunnies to watch and some very large bugs!

Usually the patios are landscaped and you have to trudge through the shrubbery to get to the pool. So you really aren't supposed to go in and out to the pool through the patio. Plus, like MickeyCrazed said, you can't lock your patio door from the outside.

There are two separate resorts at the Boardwalk. The Boardwalk Inn which has regular hotel rooms and the Boardwalk Villas, a Disney Vacation Club resort, which only has villas. Are you in the Boardwalk Villas?

We are staying in the DVC Villas.
We are staying in the one bedroom ones, are there any of these located on the first floor?

Wow, Ducks, Frogs and Bunnies :Pinkbounc my 3-year-old nephew will have a blast.
