Calling all BWV owners and lovers! My little family is staying in a 1BR at BWV this coming May. While we've stayed in a 1BR before, we never used the kitchen (except for the fridge). Our daughter will be 13 months by this trip, so we'll definitely be using more of the actual amenities in the room this time around. Given that, I had a couple of questions to help me plan what to bring from home for this trip:

1) Do they give you enough dish detergent to run the dishwasher every day? If not, is there a spot for dishwasher tabs (i'd bring some from home). I don't want to deal with hand washing sippy cups and bottles and want to just toss everything in the dishwasher at the end of every night! (I hand washed her bottles in the tiny sink in an OKW studio when she was 5 months - never again!!)

2) What size coffee filters go in their coffee pots? Mama needs her coffee :P

3) Has BWV gone over to the wall-mounted/large bottles of shampoo/conditioner/bodywash?

If anyone else has any random tips on things you might need/not realize when utilizing the amenities in the villas, please share! We take the DME, so if we forget anything, we're out of luck!

I know they are regular coffee pots with the flat bottom filters. I am not sure how much detergent you get, as I have only had to ever run it once...and usually do it right before we leave as we don't eat a lot in the room. You may be able to call to get more, or just bring some with you.

You should have both dish detergent (a newer green product - ECOS) and pouches of dishwasher detergent. If you need more, you should be able to call housekeeping to get more. The coffee pots are a Mr Coffee style 10-12 cup coffee maker. So flat bottom filters are needed. You'll also have the ECOS brand laundry detergent (one bottle good for two loads). You should have plenty of toilet paper and paper towels, but you can request more if you need them.

From my own experience they usually leave two packets of dishwasher stuff. I will usually shake just half of that pack and do a short cycle for th3 dishwasher. Look at the read outs when turning it it on. I will still bring along a couple of tabs just in case. If you have a refillable coffee mug from a previous visit I would bring it and go to the boardwalk bakery and fill it there....I don’t know about the rest of DVCers but the coffee I make from the maker in the kitchen is just awful.

In October and December 2019, the one bedrooms at BWV that I stayed in did not have the wall mounted dispensers for toiletries. They were still the travel sized tubes.

Oh and regarding the shampoo and stuff...little by little they are installing the dispensers, so plan for whatever.

There is also the general store (Screen Door) which carries most things. We forgot a toothbrush and picked one up there.
