My mom and I had a wonderful stay at the Boardwalk Villas Jan. 17-21. Even on short notice, we were able to snag a 1 bedroom standard view. The room was ready when we returned from the parks at 4:30 Monday afternoon. Our luggage arrived right after we entered the villa. The bellman was friendly and efficient at unloading our luggage and groceries. We had a large balcony that overlooked the waterway at the front of the boardwalk hotel. It had a beautiful fountain in it. Plus, were able to see Illuminations each night from the balcony! It was a beautiful view for a standard room!
There were room service dishes outside of our room when we got there. When we returned from the parks Tuesday afternoon, they were still there. One looked like it had milk in it and the other had juice. We decided to move it to the garbage room since I wasnt sure where it went. Inside, the room was clean. The fridge was smaller then the one at the Beach Club and the washer/dryer looked to be older than the BCV one. There was a broken wine glass in the cupboard that we sat on the cabinet. I just glanced in all the cabinets as the only thing we used in the kitchen was the glasses for soda.
Is it me or are there too many doors in the bathroom area?!! I felt like I was always opening doors. At night, we would only leave the bedroom door and the front door to the bathroom open (straight shot in) so we wouldnt be confused. The Jacuzzi tub was very nice and we used it every night! It was especially nice after being so cold watching the fireworks to then be able to soak in the hot tub!
We loved the quaintness of the BWV. The white picket fence hallway walls were very cute. However, the hallways were LONG! Very long. We would leave the elevator to the right and go down that hallway and then go to the left to the end of that hallway. There was still a whole other hallway before you reach the end of the hotel. After a few days of that, it grew old. However, I wouldnt have traded it for the wonderful view that we had. I guess everything had its tradeoffs.
As for comparisons, I liked the BWV and I loved the BCV. Just a personal preference. We had lunch twice at Beaches & Cream and I really missed the BCV. However, Id like to try all the WDW resorts, so it was fun to try something new. I would probably stay here again if I could get a BW view room. I think that might be a neat experience. For the points, you cannot beat a standard view!! Our 1 bedroom was considerably cheaper than our stay at AKL.
The bus/boat system was very efficient. We only waited for a boat for 15 minutes one morning. The rest of the time was only a 5 or 10 minute wait. We had no complaints about the transportation.
