Can anyone recommend a good request to put in so I don't get a parking lot view? We are staying in a 1 bedroom at BWV. I know I'd like a high floor. Is that all I should request and hope for the best?

Also, do I put that request in by calling CRO?

Thank you!

Did you book on points or cash through Disney Reservation Center? If you booked through DRC, you probably will have pool/garden view. If you booked on points and booked a standard view (fewer number of points required), you will get parking lot, front circle.

I booked using cash - 1 bedroom standard view.

Do you really think I don't have to worry about getting a parking lot view? That would be awesome!!

What is your opinion of this resort - the Villas that is?

Thank you for your help!

It's convenient. Not the biggest fan of BWV because we always drive and parking there can be a nightmare.

But if you like being in the center of it all, BWV is the place to be. We'll be there one night in October for the Tower of Terror 10 Miler, just to be able to walk to and from the race. We prefer the quieter, away from the hustle and bustle resorts.

Oh, no. Now I"m worried about parking! We will have our car for MK, DTD, etc.

Use the bus for MK. It's easier.

With F&W going on while you are there, the guards should let you park since you are staying at BWV. But it may be hard to find a parking place. So many people who aren't staying there try to park at the BW to either avoid the cost of parking or avoid having to walk through Future World if they are just going to the World Showcase.

If you dislike the parking at the Boardwalk so much, why didn't you stay at the Beach Club Villas? At the most it is a 5 minute longer walk from the BC to Hollywood Studios than from the Boardwalk.

Not speaking for Deb & Bill, but I know that when it comes to booking DVC, you sometimes have to settle for whatever is available for your stay when you're trying to book at a resort that you don't own at. Given that her stay is during F&W (wildly popular among DVC members) and Epcot resorts are quick to fill up, getting either BWV or BCV is tricky unless you own there and booked 11 months out.

OP, here's a link to a map of the resort which shows where the various DVC room locations are situated. As Deb & Bill said, since your room is a cash reservation through DRC and not a DVC reservation, your "standard location" is actually a pool/garden view. Those villa locations are shown in red on the map. Guests who are staying on points in a "standard location" get the rooms which are shown in green.

Do any of the 1 bedrooms have an Epcot/Illuminations view?

We booked a cash ressie (with the room discount!) and I'd love to put in a request for an Epcot view, but I didn't know if there were rooms with such a view and if there are, which area they are in. Our ressie is for a standard view, we weren't given any other option.

Thanks!!!

fyi, parking for non-BWV/BWI guests has gotten much more restrictive in the past few years.
they are especially stringent during EPCOT/DHS special events, e.g., F&GF, F&WF.
during busy times & weekends, guards instruct anyone not staying at the resort that they must use valet, or park across the street (behind the Hess station). occasionally, they will direct cars to the left-side lot.
poles have been erected to block the first entryway into the resort guest lot (on right - cars used to "sneak" in). a guard is usually stationed at the single lot entrance, around the corner, during those busy times and weekends. he/she checks resort parking permit, room key, and may request photo ID to match.
we stay at the BWVs 2-3x (10-14 days each) a year, and have not had any problems finding a decently close parking space - usualy within the first 5 spots, but no more than half-way down, since they have instituted the restrictions.

btw, DTD buses are the only BWV/BWI transportation we dislike there - that is the only "park" we will drive to. both EPCOT and DHS are within walking distance, or a you can take a friendship (we happen to love the walks:cloud9:).
AK or MK bus transportation is okay - better than driving tho (not fans of the time spent driving, then still having to park, & ride tram - driving has taken us significantly longer).
the longest we have waited for an AK/MK bus was about 20 minutes, and then they sent 2! :thumbsup2 a CM is usually posted at the stop to monitor & facilitate bus transportation - an improvement made in the past few years).

just think: if the BW wasn't as great as it is, no one would want to park there :)

I had to waitlist my one night at BWV or BCV (in a studio). I waitlisted both and the BWV one came through first. So I kept that one.

If you booked through Disney Reservation Center, you have a pool/garden view and you probably won't have Epcot/Illuminations view. Those are the front drive and perhaps the BW views that are only available for points.

If the BW wasn't directly adjacent to Epcot and an easy walk to Epcot, no one would park there except BW guests.

really?
then who are all those people that are on the BW, enjoying the entertainers, riding surrey bikes, playing the carny games, window shopping in wyland, going to jellyrolls, dining, etc....and gazing at the people in the BW view rooms in such envy? we always see msny wistful faces, both kids & adults talking about how they want to stay longer, wishing to "come back tomorrow" as the crowds exit up the stairs.
(for those staying there: listen to non-resort guests strolling along the BW sometime. you will feel as fortunate as those people say :goodvibes).

considering that non-BW guests' options are to spend significantly more time and/or money (time-consuming WDW transportation, park in the "remote" lot & walk quite a distance just to get to the BW, pay $15 + tax/tip for valet) just to avoid the $15 EPCOT parking fee doesn't make any sense.

sorry, but not all resorts can have the grandeur or excitement of the BWV/BWI (tho AKL/AKV and GF/VGF are magnificent in their own ways) :)
