BWPPI vs. Park Vue?

I am deliberating options and was just wondering if anyone had an opinion about how these two compare. We stayed in BWPPI last time and I LOVE the close walk, so I'm really just looking at these two options.

I know they both have breakfast and have the same walking distance to the park, so are there any other major differences I should consider?

TIA!

I've stayed at BWPPI and my brother has stayed at the Vue, and from what I could see of his room they were more or less the same basic, budget-style rooms. Either way you're paying for the close walk and probably won't be spending much time in the room, so I'd say go for whichever one is cheapest!

I was just about to post this EXACT SAME QUESTION.

Thank you!

I am finding it will depend on how many of us end up going. A two bath suite at BWPII (if there are six of us) is cheaper than two separate rooms at Park Vue.

I guess I should sort that out.

Thanks!!

P.

Oh, any opinions on who has a better breakfast, or nicer pool? Park Vue advertises that you can watch fireworks from there...... is that only from upgraded rooms?

Thanks again.

ok so let me get this straight.. the BW is the park place inn, the park vue inn is not a best western?

so where is the park vue inn again? i can't keep up with all these hotels.. :lmao:

I just read on another thread that Park Vue is offering a 25% discount if you call them and tell them you are a Facebook fan. That's worth a try!

You're welcome.

I just asked for the FB discount in June and Park Vue said no. He wouldn't even give me the government rate, even though I am going to be in SoCal due to work!! I mean what government employees stay on Harbor Blvd. and DON'T go to DL?? I'll try again later.

This map should help

On this map we are talking about hotels 1 and 6

wait they won't give you the government rate and i am sure you work for the government? hmm that doesn't seem right.....well good luck! :thumbsup2

We have stayed in both multiple times, and this assessment is right on. Whenever we saw a difference, it was because of an employee at the time moreso than the actual room. Get the best deal and go for it!

I do!!! I will be in Pasadena for three days right before this doing my Federal Government job, then going to meet the family at DL.

I doubt if anybody is actually working WHILE staying at these hotels..... so what is the point of a government rate? lOL.

Oh well, this planning is fun.

We have watched the fireworks from there. Just behind (and above) the lobby is a second story patio where you can sit for their breakfast. It offers a great (pretty much unobstructed) view of the fireworks. There is no music though, and it doesn't even come close to watching them from Main Street with a view of the castle. But we did this on the night we arrived and enjoyed doing so. There were patio chairs to sit on.

I don't know if you could see the fireworks from inside any of the rooms....maybe the upstairs rooms just behind the breakfast area. But I'm not sure which floorplans those rooms have.

Side note: If you fall asleep in your room before the fireworks begin, prepare for a rude awakening. I thought bombs were going off on the roof of the hotel! The launching fireworks sounded MUCH louder from the room than they do from inside Disneyland. That is probably in part due to the fact that there is no music or other theme park noise to drown out the sound. I think this goes for all the hotels on Harbor along the east side of DL.

As far as the Park Vue's pool goes.....is great! Not huge, but big enough. They have nice tables and chairs, plus a jacuzzi. My kids swam after the park closed on a chilly December night, and no one complained about the water being cold. DH sat in the jacuzzi and enjoyed himself.

I'm debating between for us staying between the Fairfield (have stayed there twice and liked it) or the BWPPI or the Park Vue! We will be there for 6 nights, I just found a great rate of $109/nt for the Fairfield, I could even get it for less than that, but I don't want to be locked in by prepaying at this point, since we aren't going until May. The BWPPI would be a little roomier with the double queen beds/dbl sofa, and there are 4 of us, 2 parents & our teens. has anyone stayed at the Fairfield & one of the other ones? What's the biggest difference?

Fairfield rooms are pretty small once you get a few people in them. Five of us stayed, two adults, two teens & an 11 yr. old. We had to use the pull out chair for one of us to sleep on & it was pretty uncomfortable. We are opting for the BWPPI on our upcoming trip in August.
